Hi guys,
What is the policy in your firm related to working hours during Ramadan?
As per the UAE government, private sector working hour must reduce by 2 hours. Does your firm/project comply with this and if not, isn’t that a violation?

Anyone have tips for cover letter/resume to stand out?
They are huge on not negotiating salary there based on their blog.
Anyone know the base salary/expected commission? - It requires you to answer on the application. I would be so thrilled to work at the company I just want to put what they start out at.

Opinions needed - I applied for several jobs with Deloitte about a year ago. (I knew I was punching up and didn’t quite meet the requirements). A year later, I have a way better profile and am getting interviews. Is it best to go ahead and delete the jobs from my profile that I didn’t get, or leave them to show my interest in the company for a long period of time? Or does it not matter at all?

How do you break into S&O from human capital ?
Depends but here’s my perspective.. I was in a non-client facing role for a few months at the start of last year and did not feel like I was progressing in my career. I had to piss off a PPMD to get rolled off but fast forward today I’m supported across the board by my current and previous project teams for early promo to SC
Depends for sure. I think it depends on your mindset and reason for change. Do you need a break so you don’t burn out? Are you forming new relationships? (they can eventually pay off by building a greater network.) Are you learning new skills? It may “slow you down” in client facing/promotion opportunities in the immediate future, but more/varying experiences usually pay off in the long term.
Client facing =/= high visibility
Make sure whatever roles you're taking are relevant to your career objectives and impactful enough that they get seen by leadership
Overall career, no. However, don’t expect promotion while in that kind of a role. There is definitely an opportunity to grow in ways where you might now see in client-facing work, but the spotlight always shines brightest on those in the client’s view. That is not always the reality for lower ranked consultants, but at higher ranks, I’ve seldom seen an exception.
It depends on the skills. I’ve been non client facing for close to a year now but got early promo because of the skills I learned from it. I was client facing on a project before it, so told the story of how I can now use the hard skills learned paired with my soft consulting skills to make more of an impact down the road. All about the story
Depends on the role. Global resident is a great and really fun job.
I took an internal role (that was high visibility and client facing but that didn’t count...). I got kicked down and never recovered. 2 years after I’m more than 100k TC behind my peers. So, I would not recommend taking an internal role at Deloitte unless it’s what you absolutely want to do / part of some exit strategy. Suggest to not believe in the encouraging words and promises of protection from leadership. Just my experience
