Female here. I would have asked for it before someone could offer bc dinners with all men need a lot of wine bc they are boring af
Why didn't you just order the wine on her behalf? "She'll have the cab"
No. She can drink whatever the heck she wants.
^^^not long for this world
I am not the female, was an observer. And saw the female twitch. She recovered well. I think I am the only one that noticed. The person asking has consistently said things that made me cringe for others.
I'm from Australia. I'd honestly never think to not just hand over the full set of drinks menus. #alcoholicnation
OP you had a perfect opportunity to say something. Doesn't need to be a huge call out, maybe just jokingly deride him for saying something so silly.
You have a lot more social power than the woman in that situation (as a bystander).
And since this guy says other cringe-worthy things, maybe bring it up to him one on one.
D6 I see you trollin'
I'm ratin'...🎶

@m, that's sexist. Not every female prefers wine over beer
D1 nice to see that you're a complex individual with evolved preferences
Or maybe OP is a female and is annoyed at men doing this...
Male here, Who drinks beer at a business dinner? Drink your Stella on your own dime.. when it's the company's, ain't sipping nothing cheaper than a $300+ bottle of wine.
If they choose the beer menu, you have marriage material there. 😉
It's unconscious prejudice, nobody has any bad intentions when they do that...just based on past observation and they're trying to accomodate
I'm 23 F and don't drink so I don't care about either menu !
Similar things have happened to me. I just slide it back and jokingly mention it's a draft kind of night or I'm ready for the hard stuff. People make assumptions all the time and typically it just makes them look like assholes. Doesn't affect me but I certainly wouldn't suck it up and stay quiet.
Yea id be a little bothered, if they dont know the person loves only wine, & esp if youve heard him say other things. Im glad youre noticing and cringing with those people! Agree w A1 that you could say something while keeping it light.
D1 has low standards
Female here. Is it a situation where they have seen you drink wine before? My last team would have wine waiting for me when I got to the restaurant... they knew me so well 😀🍷
And no he never ate with the female before.
