Dm me for refferal
Depends on how long you’ve been with the company and depends on the company. Don’t sign the PIP but if you did, just know that your better off using that time to hunt for a new role than trying to beat it.
You can be entitled to severance if you are fired, but only if it's in your contract. Speak with HR if you have any doubts. I'd also ask whether they can offer you other services like EAP
One of the primary purposes of a PIP is to give your employer a solid, well-documented reason to let you go. I've never seen anyone who was fired at the end of this process receive any kind of severance package because, as you mentioned, it's not a layoff, it's a termination.
I was on a 90 day PIP and got my full severance plus some, so it does happen……..
Anyone here ever been on one? What was the process and experience like for you?
Yes, if your company is worth their salt, the next time you meet with HR your computer is going to shut down about five minutes after.
They had me sign an additional non-compete for my severance.
If your company isn’t going to pay severance and depending on your finances you could in theory:
-Ask for an extension to your PIP. See if you can get drag out your pay and benefits for an extra 15 or 30 days.
-When you see the calendar invite pop up for HR meeting use all possible time (sick/covid/vacation/bereavement/etc.)
Extra Credit
-If you have any RSU’s know that they will disappear if not fully vested
-If you have any FSA funds spend them as fast as you can, make sure all your medical bills are paid and your stocked of medication you & family need
-Applying with any channel partners you had good relationships with may be your quickest transition to a new position
If you can afford to - take your time and make sure your next position is something that’s going to hold your interest. For me personally it made all the difference.
Best of luck, keep interviewing and separate yourself from the pack by doing research on linkedin for hiring managers at companies you want and reach out to them directly. Great way to skip the application line.
Usually the point of a PIP is to provide evidence of why they shouldn't give you a severance package. It's basically time on payroll to look for a new job. I would be very surprised if someone got a severance package for being terminated after a 30 day PIP.
Makes sense. Thank you!
