Who the what now ?
I assume the question is, “If you are going through a divorce, would you tell your teammates at work?” I also assume this was written after pouring a few chardonnays….which is acceptable under the circumstances.
I would not tell my peers. They will assume that any mistake you make is due to the stress of the divorce. If you are NOT making mistakes or slacking, they might begin to see mistakes or look for them just because they assume that you would be slacking as a result of the divorce. I don’t think that it would help you at all. I think it will make them look down on you and judge you.
*I don’t think that is the right way for them to react. This is solely based off of my experience working in firms. Peers are generally cut throat and looking for a reason to undercut the competition from what I’ve seen. Don’t turn to them for comfort.
I had to. They locked down the firm for everyone's safety. Quite the scandal.
Do tell do tell!
