Why are town Hall meetings so impersonal? They are all about awards / the number of people hired. I know FCB health is large, but we never hear from people who aren’t Executives. Last town hall, when discussing inclusion efforts, there were no people of color represented and one of the 4 pillars of diversity was centered around our “reputation as an organization” (that really rubbed me the wrong way). At my last agency those conversations were always led by people of color from every level.
I have a bit of a dilemma and need some advice. My manager pushes really hard to recruit and hire only minority candidates. While I'm all for diversity, it feels unethical to exclude other qualified candidates just because they are a particular race and gender (white males). I've had to pass over a few candidates that were WAY more qualified and in my opinion would have made a much better fit. I don't know if there's anything I can or should do.

It's really pathetic to see guys getting desperate on this bowl and due to such guys all of us get labelled creeps. I can understand you guys are not getting any due to the skewed gender ratio but please maintain some dignity. I am sure if the gender ratio was skewed in reverse then women won't be behaving in such a desperate manner and would rather stay single. My request to all guys is please have some self respect because this desperation won't lead you anywhere

As a Black person, I feel like I all of a sudden have a lot of interest in my views from BofA, but it's usually on Diversity issues. How have you fought this pigeon-holing throughout your career?
How would you make the business case for adding more diversity to the workforce. I think we take it as a given that people will support this, but some people need to see $$ and #s to be moved.

BIA Briefs: I’m an associate at an immigration law firm. I determined that immigration isn’t for me So I gave the managing partner my 2 weeks. He wants me to wrap up some BIA briefs before I leave however I’m reviewing the record for a lot these and I’m seeing that a lot of the arguments for Asylum, Withhold, and CAT are incomplete. How I’m going to argue that the IC abused its discretion or misapplied the law when we made a facially insufficient argument for relief?

My firm was recently acquired and compensation is unchanged. I have been offered a lateral move within my company to a role I (believe) I will be more interested in that will suit my skills more. However, I’ve now been offered a promotion in my existing Role, and have heard that this is a pretty big deal and almost fast track to Director.
