Considering most of my college friends make a salary that is half what I make and have no potential for raises or bonuses each year makes me thankful I work in such a rewarding industry. 🦃
I thought I was ok with no raise and bonus due to Covid-19 but after two months of around the clock work, internal and client facing, I want my checks.
What’s the correlation between compensation & happiness? I have never been a very happy person (depressed from time to time) and my comp is only 150k. What compensation do I need to reach so that I can become immediately happy? 200k, 300k, 500k?

Jackson Lewis v. Littler v. Fisher Phillips Which one: 1- is best to start out as young associate (assuming a few years of gen. lit experience but no employment) 2- is most likely to provide the appropriate support, experience, and upward mobility in the next 5 years (w/o making you want to leave) 3- is the best long term (considering: kids + workflow + business development expectations) 4- is most likely to lead to a good in-house job BONUS - if you've left 1 of these for another 1, why?

Has anybody hopped over from an MBB/T2/B4 type of firm to a boutique? Thoughts /perspectives? Would appreciate either a push off the ledge or a pull away from it. Generally fed up with the long hours, lack of project variety, and the firm’s small practice and lack of focus in my interest area and wondering if things would improve at a boutique that specializes in what I want to do.

Hello! I have a two part question: 1) is it worth it to obtain an SHRM specialty credential if I don’t have the broader SHRM certification? 2) has anyone gotten the People Analytics or Talent Acquistion credential? If so, how valuable was it from a learning perspective? Do you feel it significantly contributed to your knowledge in either area? Thank you!
I needed to find the appropriate bowl to brag. Not sure if this is the place, so forgive me if it is inappropriate. My 11th grade son was just waitlisted for a five day summer camp at his dream college: The United States Coast Guard Academy Even being waitlisted is a big accomplishment. I am so proud of him. If he doesn’t get invited to the summer camp, the Academy is suggesting a few other options, including an overnight stay this fall.

it’s wild how much casual racism there is in the HBS threads. maybe the reason you didn’t get in despite your top stats is that your essay pointed to the same type of low EQ that goes with complaining about how unfair it is.
TFW when your SM announces to the team that your manager is leaving the project while the manager is out on PTO. -_-
