If you could reinvent the way companies recruit, what would you do differently?

I know I would make it a standard across the board that every hiring process could not have more than 2 steps.

I believe that with that limit, people would get more creative and come up with better assessments (but maybe I’m being naive?) 😅

I have a few ideas. First I would have a “Company Ambassador” or company “influencer” if you will. Someone who loves sharing about the company, what they do, fun work events, how products and services work etc. Secondly, I would make sure the company careers page highlights why someone would want to work there, pictures of company culture, values, mission statement, I would showcase our diversity, benefits offered and employee reviews. Of course I would have videos of employees that share why they love working there and what keeps them happy. Recruiting in 2022 is going to be far less REACTIVE and far more PROACTIVE. If a company can’t highlight why someone would want or should work there, then, IMO, they shouldn’t. When I sat in TA, I worked heavily with our Marketing team to help market our company in ways other companies were not. To me this was imperative to do to bring in top talent. No one in the HR/TA department had ever worked with marketing regarding TA. It was such a success and frankly, so much fun!

Oh wow, these are really great ideas! 🔥 I also used to work in PR and marketing, and now in recruitment, and I super agree - adding the fun stuff to make people interested in your company really helps big time! ✨ I'll start exploring that Company Ambassador/Influencer too!!! 🙌🏼

10 open Leadership Supervisor positions.
Almost 30 applicants.

I said that "People come to me about process issues, and I worked with others to better that process for them and the team."
Interviewer feedback denying me the role was that because I did not say "People trust me and came to me about process issues. Which led me to collaborate with others that I have networked with in the past to find solutions." I did not get the job.

Was this Code-Switching nitpick?

Why do HRs go ahead with interview process if they cannot match the salary expectations of the job seekers on the first place. Recently a very well known MNC took interview rounds and wasted so much of my time in their formalities and at last they are adamant on the salary they want to give, way lesser than the current offer I am holding. This is such a waste of time for the candidates.

I jumped on a call with a candidate to debrief from his interview results I asked him how felt it went and if he enjoyed the interviews. After he shared with me his feedback I started to highlight the areas where he did poor and where he did great. But in the middle of it he cut me off and said, can we just address the elephant in the room, did I pass it or not?. His approach threw me off but I wanted to share with him but it seems like his disregard everything I had said. Anyone experienced it?

Hello!

I am being tapped to translate documents at work. I’ve done spot translation audits, and 1 larger Quality assurance document earlier this year, but was recently contacted about a potential large-scale translation initiative for next year.

Has anyone been compensated for these sorts of projects that would be “out of scope” for their role? How do you go about asking for compensation? Have any of you spun out and created translation service side-gigs?

Hey folks,
Help me choose Swiggy as Sr SDET or Amazon as QAE-1. Compensation is almost same, so do not want to consider that as decision factor. But based on other factors like position offered, wlb and learning opportunities.

It would help if you could support your answers with some points.

Thanks.

Can I ask something on morning wood if it is okay to ask?

Edit: Updating the Question as 2 people said yes.

Does morning wood mean that I would have a boner before waking up itself? Sometimes I wake up and I already have a boner. Sometime I don't, I get a boner in a few minutes after waking up.

Which of these are morning woods? Or are both?

Also, how long should a morning wood be (in minutes) after waking up?

Question: I currently work as an inside sales account manager selling a wide portfolio of IT products. I’ve been recruited for a role that would be an outside sales role selling ONLY a software solution that Im able to sell at my current company (but usually don’t due to other options that we are compensated better off of.) The new role would have some overlap with current customers that I work closely with now (one being a VERY large client.) Would this violate a non-compete/solicitation?
