Probably BCG or KPMG. I know they're direct rivals but both are the elites of the elites. It's hard to choose which one is most prestigious. I'd probably choose BCG since it's easier to fake it there than kpmg.
KPMG elite 😂. First laugh of the day right there

Any MBB tbh if only to dunk on Deloitte

Any MBBD
Yeah, McKinsey is pretty unethical
Slalom. I wanna have a life, but still like consulting.
Dream on ... 5 years at Slalom. Don't believe their hype!
The first one to make a woman their global chief/director — no joke id jump from McKinsey as soon as BCG/Bain made that move
@KPMG4 ... Avanade's CEO is a black female. No idea on sexual preference because ... honestly we don't care. She just needs to be competent - she can sleep with whomever she wants. What a novel concept!
Rising Star
Probably Bain because they seem like cool kids otherwise EYP because they seem nice

BCG. Heard great things about their benefits. I also like their green 🤩
But who would want those hours???

Currently trying for Slalom but I’d also go for BCG
Was about to join Avanade, was really excited to. The firm seems amazing
Deloitte all the way
Me too! :-) I appreciate their DEI work.
I’m happy with where I am. I originally wanted McK because of more prestige. But given all the bad press recently I feel sorta lucky that they rejected me.
Rising Star
McK, sue me

No sweat, McK has become quite familiar with lawsuits in recent memory.
Boston Consulting Group
Lol. Probably McKinsey because they have the best exit ops.
Bain
None.
Forget working as an employee for firms. I’d rather be a freelance consultant charging a hefty daily rate and working a steady, guaranteed book of business fed to me by a firm with a great sales team who needs my expertise.
I did it once in my career and it was fantastic. Big money. Expensed everything the law allowed. Lots of freedom. No real boss except the client - and I’ve always been good at keeping them happy. There was stress, but it wasn’t anything like you experience at a mid-to-large firm.
There are definitely pros and cons. Working for a firm like PwC provides a lot more stability, company subsidized healthcare, paid vacation, retirement matching, and you still get paid even if you’re on the bench. But the pay is significantly lower (my base salary over a 12 month period is close to $100K less than my gross income as a freelancer), and sometimes the sheer size and structure of a firm this size feel like a bit too much. Freelancing pays great, but if you don’t/can’t work, you don’t get paid. You also have to fully fund your own retirement, pay all your own healthcare, and pay higher taxes (although that’s usually offset by being able to expense things that you can’t as an employee)…so that $100K difference in gross doesn’t really tell the whole story.
I’m reluctant to make a move right now because I don’t want to have such a short stint on my resume. But depending on how things go during the next promotion cycle, I may seriously consider going back to freelancing. If there’s steady project work available that could keep me billable for 9-12 months, it would probably be worth making the switch.
I am so surprised by all the answers here. I don't know about Boston but I always thought KPMG is the worst.....sorry KPMG folks. There are good and bad colleagues everywhere. It really depends on your team not your company.
I have only worked at one so far and I know my boss is famous at yelling at people and treat them as dogs...so again I think team matters
Say what you want but I’m pretty sure D has some projects that offer best pay / Horus worked. Working 40hr a week on long term gig and earning 200k ftw. I was very lucky to get this gig and a chill client who trusts us…. Ate my fair amount of shit at other firms before this gig.
Did i mention the green Koolaid is made from ethical and sustainable sources ?
