Anyone have experience turning down MBB? I did and feel quite bad actually as i really liked all the people i interviewed and cased with, and know that so many folks would kill for an offer.

Truth is, i just got an offer that was more aligned to my interests at this time, and possibly better positioning me for where i wanna go. Isn’t she supposed to know whether it’s me or not? HR isn’t making the decision? I’m confused. She’s the one that interviewed me. It’s a FED job btw.

My parents think I’m being unreasonable for wanting to move back to NYC in Feb. I hired movers remotely to store my stuff — and my parents think I’m too tied to “stuff” and should just throw everything out since I’m going to grad school next Aug. I left last-minute with a carry-on and everything I ever bought with my own money is there. It’s sentimental; I want to sort through my things. I’m so frustrated because they never help other than providing impractical advice. What would you do?

At MBB does the “up or out” mentality apply to partners as well? (E.g. low sales gets you the chop) Or do they just rely on people exiting to industry?
