Thoughts of a black person in public accounting: my management is lacking in diversity which is contributing to me considering positioning myself elsewhere. However, if I position myself elsewhere than I am removing the chance of a minority being promoted into management (myself). I have to do what’s best for me, so I am going to take that new job. things just got strange at work and I’m not sire what to do… the Founder/Executive Director of the org I work at decided to have this summer retreat at her beach house in the Hamptons. She wants us to get to her house at 9am and specifically said we cannot leave until 5:30pm so we have time to have fun after team building activities. All of us will have 5-hour commute in total in one day won’t get home till at least 9pm. /1
