No you dont share your rating with others!!

There is no need to panic. Start talking to other firms just in case. If they put you on a plan they won't fire you right away.

like

OP I'm in the same boat as you so I completely understand what you're going through. They haven't told me they're putting me on any kind of plan so you might be safe. I changed teams as I was on a pretty shitty engagement which makes me believe why I got a shitty rating. Try changing teams and see if it works out better for you.

Why would you leave? What was your rating? The PP should assist your growth

Performance plan and rating aren't linked, you can be put on a plan mid year/irrespective of rating. This may be different in different groups but agreed that with us 4 means you're being coached out.

like

4 - I know I am reacting right off the bat and the letter you are given and know it's called growth for a reason just rn in panic mode

Also- just curious do other firms or jobs ask for your ratings?

Also I talked to one recruiter and he asked about my rating. I didn't give it to him and not even sure if it's customary for the to ask.

+ I wouldn't stay. 4 means no raise = no reason to stay, unless you love your job and pwc

They still gave me a raise - a shitty one but not enough to put me over what the newbies coming in will be making. I'll try this new team and if it doesn't work then I'll leave.

I'm not going to lie or get into the intricate details : well maybe a little ha- I had an engagement that was incredibly cliquey. My senior was moving to recruiting at the end so you can imagine. I got in a tiff with my senior after they appropriately critiqued my work but I was upset they left at 3 pm the day before and showed up the next day at 11am complaining about their hangover and I asked for better coaching going forward. Didn't go over well. My whole improvement plan yes I totally agree they are points that I can improve on but seemed like they came straight out of that engagement when I had others that rated me well before that. That being said every improvement point said to me was backed up with " everyone really appreciated your positive attitude and your dedication towards teamwork" I'm not perfect and I assumed I would have some repercussions from what went down but didn't think it would be this. I ultimately want to go into consulting and project management and was hoping accounting would give me the added appeal. I now just don't think I'm cut out for the big four. Meh.

People don't repeat levels right ? I would stick it out.

if you get a 4 at PwC that means gtfo. we only do 1-3 ratings at my office because 4-5 means cya later

Can they still put you on a performance improvement plan if you got a 3? Or is it for the 4-5's only?

My company is asking us to put bios on our their website complete w/photos, “qualifications,” & interests. Since I also do freelance work and consulting I don’t want potential clients to see my lower job title & hurt my personal branding. Bad idea 2 ask?
