If you had to make a quick decision:

Would you rather work at Southwest Airlines as a Recruiter or Capital One? I heard Capital One pays more but I heard that the culture at Southwest is amazing & their Recruiters DON’T have metrics.

What are your thoughts?

Southwest for the travel perks plus culture

I have a friend that works at Cap 1 and she really likes it. I’m not sure if their are metrics or not but I know she works half days every Friday and get every other Friday off. Those sound like good work life balance details. Again, idk from personal experience but she seems to really like it

Biased answer here, but our culture really can’t be beat! I feel lucky everyday to work with people I really enjoy, toward a common goal that everyone is passionate about. Super fulfilling work environment. Plus, benefits are incredible! Not only flight benefits, but traditional benefits, too (9.3% 401k, profit sharing, etc). We’ve recently gone through a comp market adjustment, so base pay will likely align between the two.

I was recently offered (2 months ago) a position at Southwest as a recruiter and they were offering $80k my friend there is at 85. For the level of experience that was low- but for an airline it’s average. Delta recruiters or program leaders are at avg $70-80k too. Southwest people are so kind too. But they have a huge recruiting team which means if your goal is to move into a leadership or manager position one day it will take awhile and be competitive- which is the only reason I declined. Not sure about capital one but if you value benefits and low stress over base comp and career growth go with southwest forsure!

If you like to travel I'd go airlines

Biased too, but the culture and people of Southwest are unlike any other. I would say, if the position isn’t Dallas based, remote is kind of tough to get the feel of the culture but teams make it work! I work remotely and really love it but wish I could see more of my team in person and there’s not a lot of that going on right now. Also, anywhere in recruiting right now is going to be super fast paced, so just be ready for that. Good luck!

No metrics , free flights, and good culture but definitely pay below market. I’ve got 5 yrs exp & at $85k

Any high volume corporate recruiters out there? I need advice, I have about 130-150 reqs, but about 300 open positions. I’m managing ok, but I’ll be passing off some of my sow soon because its not sustainable long term. One of my decks has about 100 reqs, and +\- 130 positions, the other 30-50 reqs holds almost 200 positions. So lower req load but more positions, or higher req load, less positions. It’s up to me to decide and I can’t choose :( plus I love all my hiring managers so it’s personal.

I’m currently interviewing with an interesting company that I’m very positive about and expecting an offer next week. I just realised that they have a more senior role (and closer to my level) posted on their career site that I think would be a better match. How should I address this? We are currently talking about a temporary role too so I think this would be even better.
