What book changed the way you look at marketing?
Not true. You can still use your stamp but you have to show your new approved H1b
No. H1B is employer specific. You’ll need to get new H1B stamped prior to entering the country again.
Rising Star
M1 the stamp can have the old company and it can be used as long as it’s not expired. The 797 has to have the new company is case of a transfer
I thought you could use the same stamp as long as you carry the new approval notice. New stamping only if the existing one has expired.
Think Op is asking to find ways to minimize joining time at the new employer? Hiring managers, especially in industry, start to wobble if they see a long lead time

Hey OP! I did this process last year so I’m a pretty reliable source. I left the US on my last day of grace period and I came back with a new 797 and I didn’t change my stamp as it was valid for another year and half. While you are abroad you can search for a job until and you can come back with your old stamp as long as it is valid it is not important to have the latest company on it. The only thing that I suggest when you do the transfer you need to remind the law firm that they have to check the box for “consular processing” on the application and once they receive your 797 they will have to send it to your address abroad because you need this to enter in the county.
Hi - can I DM you? In the exact same situation and could use help.
I am close to the end of the 60-day period. Instead of changing my status to H1B, I am considering going back home and keep looking and coming back when the transfer is approved. If I can use the same stamp, then life becomes easier for me
But the only risk could be if a new executive order is signed after you left the country to stop existing h1s to enter USA. Due to COVID, things are changing unpredictably.
Changing status from H1B to B2*
Thank you so much! That is very very helpful and reduces my stress quite a bit!
