This. People are posting on this app all the time about pain and cramps, but always say it’s probably normal. If you are in pain, please go get checked out. And if your doctor doesn’t listen to you, switch doctors.
I am forever grateful for my doc who actually listened to me and discovered my endometriosis. Having it removed was like night and day. But I had so many doctors say it was normal to have severe pain each month and if I couldn’t handle it then I needed to be on the pill.
Ladies, advocate for your health because you are worth it!
*gets off of soapbox*
Severe pain in high school, put on birth control, and when I went off the pill I still had a lot of pain. I went to a doctor who specialized in diagnosing and treating endo. I’m glad I got off the pill when I did so I had time to fix my issues before having kids. And now I don’t have to take the pill, which messes with my moods. Happy to help you find a specialist in your area.
I so appreciate this post. I actually just asked my husband last night if it would be wrong to just ask my doctor to schedule an ultrasound to just check things out. I have felt for quite sometime things are not right but my doctor doesn’t listen so I recently switched doctors. Hopefully I will figure things out soon and hopefully there’s nothing too serious.
You also need to find a doctor who specializes in diagnosing specific issues. Most doctors focus on OB or GYN, but don’t have a lot of experience in other issues and don’t really know how to diagnose or treat them.
