Elon rumored to leave the Bay Area and move to Nevada/Texas. Covid has likely decimated the NYC economy for the short term, with many companies and employees questioning if they’ll ever go back. What do we think will be the new hot housing market post-Covid? Will NYC/SF/LA recover, or will people move to cheaper COL? Will the net result be 0 change?
Just realized the Financial Panther FIREd with just $175k. And by FIREd I mean, quit his day job and only does gig work (DoorDash, Rover, AirBnB) at his convenience. In case anyone is feeling trapped in their current job situation.
Department got laid off and that sucks but I feel good that the guy who kept stealing my ideas also got let go. Ha!
I was just laid off from two companies last week as a technical recruiter. I have two LinkedIn recruiter seats. Any ideas on how to utilize that for extra money in the interim prior to my next offer and start date which could be month(s)?
I’m hoping to move to a coastal MD town in the next 1-3 years (from Philly). There don’t seem to be many job opportunities, if any. My plan B is to work remotely, but I’m worried that the available opportunities won’t allow for growth or promotion. Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with working remotely in corporate law (outside of COVID of course). At the time I move I’ll have 3-5 years of experience at an Am Law 100 firm in M&A.
Do you think black people will be disproportionately impacted when the COVID layoffs come?
Manager1 - “Nobody likes her. she’s been moved around department managers because no one can stand her. We tried to get her fired, but Hr said no.”
Manager 2 - “Firing without proper cause can lead to a lawsuit…”
Hey team! So I was laid off from my SDR position about a week ago. A couple months back, I had an offer for a BDR position that I ended up turning down but I really liked and connected with the manager. Is it worth it to reach out? I applied to other positions in the same company. What about reaching out to previous co workers at a different company? Not sure how to navigate this… please help. Also I’m sorry if this is the wrong bowl to post in.
3rd time recruiting for a Google strategy & ops role in past 6 months. First time role nixed from covid, 2nd time didn’t go through. Waste of time or keep going? Tips?
My agency is making salary cut backs cause of covid-19. Whole agency at 80%. Because I'm on a junior salary in Manchester that means 80% is less than minimum wage. Do I have any rights?
Seeing your guys posts have me really sad.. So I started at Rite aid 3 years ago at start of Covid when I lost my job (factory) closed with no experience or training.. I’m now MI state licensed, not nationally certified. I fought with the union to get raises in our district and they did give us pay raises on the first of the 2022 year. so making 13.50 with a 25 cent pay raise a year.. I love my job and coworkers and my pharmacist.. but seeing these pay rates y’all have I’m very disappointed.
Anti vaxxers: Dear Lord, show me a sign if this covid vaccine is legit.
Is anyone hearing chatter in banks/FIs about recessionary job cuts or hiring freezes yet?
If anyone has project management open positions in their company please contact me. I recently was part of a few layoffs.
Anyone know of any senior strategy openings? Just got laid off and would greatly appreciate any leads.
What would you do? I was recently reached out to by an exec I worked for at another agency. He’s at a new agency and looking for an EA to assist him, the new president and another exec. However the agency itself is not doing well- no new biz wins, big layoffs recently, terrible reviews on Glassdoor. I like my current agency enough, however, very much don’t like the 2 execs I assist. Would you go rather work for good execs at a bad agency? Or stay at a decent agency but awful execs?
How are other districts compensating you for working over your contracted time? I’m not taking just over. I’m taking about 13+ hour work days, every day.

Hey ppl! I would love some advice re: my situation. I was in a bootcamp sponsored by my employer; afterwards I was assigned to an agile team. However, for about a year now, I've had to join a 2nd bootcamp, purchase courses on Udemy just to get better at coding. I've gotten 100% better, but I don't have much to show for it professionally because I've been pigeon-holed. Does anyone have any advice on what I can do to stand out to other employers so I can get a better job - where I'm included?
Anyone here think weed magnifies the depths of your depression?
I used to love smoking and now I dread even the thought of getting high.

Implementation projects are a grind. At least for me there is a disconnect between what was sold and what we can actually deliver. Anyone enjoy implementations? Maybe I am just on the wrong projects.

Do you need a healthcare-related graduate degree to progress your career in healthcare consulting? I majored in business/finance in undergrad and have 1 YOE at a healthcare boutique but am worried that I won’t be able to lateral without more schooling. Would I have a shot of lateraling to a big 4 healthcare group or a large Tier 2 consulting firm in the next few years without getting an MHA or some other graduate degree?
