What's your favorite shoe brand?
McKinsey & Company Bain & Company I know I want to be at McKinsey & Company or Bain & Company , and I have done all of the prep work to be successful in the interviews, but I am struggling to actually get an interview. Does anyone have any tips on how to get an interview? Do you need a referral from someone senior? Networking with junior staff and recruiters has yet to be successful.

Why-The network; your fellow MLTers are the ones that will give you all of the tea about what different companies are really like; over the years people have launched businesses together or invested in other people’s businesses
Why Not: The time; I did it pre-consulting and put in a good 10-20 hours/ week just on MLT stuff-that doesn’t include studying for the GMAT since I wasn’t GMAT final when I started. I’m not sure I would have been able to find that extra time & energy had I already been a Consultant
Depends on:
- amount of time & money you're willing to spend
- where you are in the process (do you already have a great score, know the school you want to get into, and have a grasp on your story? Or are you starting from scratch but think bschool is the way)
I’m a big advocate of MLT and highly recommend it to all URM candidates. The network alone is worth it. But yes, it’s a lot of time consuming work up front but does save you time on the back end. And anytime you are around talented people who look like you and are on the same wave as you, it’s a W. And there are a lot of baddies 😍

From someone that didn’t do it, I regret it because I wish I had the network. I’m looking into it for MBA Prep
