Find a better way to hold students accountable
Exactly!!! Not turning in anything all semester, and having a 13 when we evacuated should not be rewarded with a passing grade under any circumstances! Packets were made available for students without internet or computers, but just doing nothing is not an option!!!!!!

Be more in depth with assignments I provide. When online learning started we though it would only be a couple weeks so I didn’t spend tons of time providing high quality content, I figured I’d make it up when we went back. My district didn’t officially announce we were staying closed until halfway through the quarter, and at that point I didn’t want to change everything and disrupt students who had been keeping up. In this case, so few engaged that it really didn’t make a difference but I know what to do next time.
I would have more check ins or a more Guaranteed way of checking in. I would also offer more options for learning.
Find a way to provide students with feedback
Structure my assignments to flow with the curriculum so they do t seem as piece meal. I’ve gained a much better understanding of our LMS and feel that will make a world of difference.
Start zoom class sooner and find a way to make sure all student are doing some of the work(accountable) which is harder at 3 year old. Make sure all Parents understand the technology .
Ensure student and parent familiarity with the platform(s) with offers of in-person or virtual training sessions. As I mentioned before, I also think accountability will have to be addressed. Although student participation wasn't required in my district because our students didn't have accessor WiFi and devices, I still made assignments for those that wanted to do them. Sadly, only 1 out of 13 (that had WiFi & devices) did any of them. :( So, that was a major problem.
Time to assist in person, so they can learn self reliance while doing, and turning in, online.
I gave exit tickets after lessons, but I wrote them quickly. I think I need to add more questions that show understanding so they can’t just google an answer. More ways to see what they are learning with accountability.
