Hello RSM coworkers! I am thrilled to be moving to RSM into a Scheduler roll. I just found out yesterday and want to be as prepared as possible in the next steps.
So here are my questions.
How long does the background study take? I'm guessing admin staff have a study that is faster and less complicated than someone in Tax ect.
When training at home what did you need that wasn't supplied by RSM? My home office is well stocked but I want to be as prepared as possible.

I interviewed with Firm A months ago and accepted a position to start this upcoming fall. Group leader called me to offer the position back in November 2020. Besides interviewing with partners at the firms, and diligent follow ups notifying them of my interest to get started, no communication has transpired since.It turns out that I accepted a better offer w/ Firm B for personal reasons and won’t be going to Firm A. What is the best way to notify Firm A? Call/email group leader? Call/email HR?

Don’t even tell them? They’re not going to bump you down a year because you have two kids.
I took nearly a year off as an associate and still got promoted with class. I was always considered at the top of my class year and gained a lot of experience while not on leave. If you’re good and feel like your experience level is at or above your class year, then it shouldn’t matter whether you took leave.

I’ve had two babies and am still with my graduating class. I would say your grad year and make them negotiate you down if they want to. Don’t tell them your deemed year.
i don’t know anyone who got docked a class year for having a kid, and everyone more senior than me on my team has 1-3
