If she knows it and her family also speaks it, why not? It could be fun/interesting.
This is not permitted under the new administration
Learn it! Or they'll speak a totally secret language with your kids.
No. Only if it's a boy.
I say if you make an effort to learn some things that will go a long way! You'll be able to communicate with her family and I'm sure they will appreciate it
Learn it so your spouse can teach your kids... and you won't feel left out
Not necessarily. My bro is law knows some words but that's about it. My mom barely speaks English but somehow they are able to have a lengthy conversation. It is actually very cool to watch :)
Learn it. Is quite fulfilling in the realm of developing a (deeper) relationship with the in-laws, and maybe a bit more with the girl if she wants the kids to learn the language e.g.
She's Taiwanese. So I'm learning mandarin (she speaks Taiwanese too, but there are like 0 resources for learning that lol), very enriching and difficult. Just curious for everyone's opinion.
Problem is her English is so good (10+ years us) & her parents know "good morning" it's pretty cute actually
Learning a new language is always great and enriching - marrying into that culture and language will give an immediate opening for you to explore so it should be extra rewarding.
Was this just a hypothetical question or are you in that situation?
Depends on how deep she expects your pickers to be ..
You only need to learn the words for "yes, desr"
Why not?
