Not to sound like an insensitive a$$ here, but I'd worked with various KGS teams for years before the pandemic, and they never delivered anything on time, or of value. I always had to wait for everything, send countless reminders, give extensions on deadlines, and still re-do everything they'd sent. So...not sure what HR will be able to do since it's a chronic under-performance issue.

I had this bad experience before (like 3 or 4yrs back) but you need to manage the team and expectations with them. They work through those discussed pain points and they have been very helpful after that. Perhaps change your strategy how to work with them, treat them as part of your team (involve in debrief, planning, and client meetings too if possible)and also great to have dedicated KGS team helping you especially for bigger engagements. Right now it's not the best time for the team too as some of them are contracting the virus or their family members so they have resourcing and deliverable delays. Try to be considerate or sensitive and be compassionate with them.. it goes a long way..

I’d raise this issue to a Partner you trust or to HR. Not okay.

I’d gently tap HR on the shoulder.

Probably quit

Probably not okay, but I’d say it depends also on what’s at hand. Is there a time sensitive deliverable? Was his/her response strictly, no you can’t or more the team needs to figure this one out? Would need more context.

Kpmg 4, I hear ya and I sympathize if that’s the case. We haven’t had any resource shortages in our India teams as of yet, so we are fortunate. Our SLAs times are also never met by our India teams. They have daily reports they run that are due every morning but 95% of the days, we are lucky to get them by 6pm. It’s a constant battle to get anything in hand by the agreed upon deadline.

Volunteer to do it onshore to help reduce the delay? People appreciate solutions rather than finger pointing.

I’m on the IT side. Couldn’t even if I wanted to. I expected the delay bc we were asked to make last min application changes. The remaining portion requires knowledge/skills that I do not have.

Just want to let you know that today on our staffing call, one of our KGS coworker that we interact on daily basis just passed away and there are 6 ppl on covid leave who works for our local office. Our us team is trying to do as much as we can to not send over heavy tasks to them over night. At this stage I would say any works we give them are the lowest priority when their family friends loved ones are impacting by this that we can’t imagine. Short answer to your MD, id say if you care about the deadline then do it yourself.

This is sad... I'm also checking in every now and then to the offshore team (sending private messages in Linkedin) and now 3 of our KGS contacts have COVID19 and even their family members.. the only thing we can do for now apart from checking in with our offshore team is if it's best to take the job onshore, do it. There are other team members that probably are sitting on the bench waiting for work at this time since most clients are at the planning phase.

The offshore team will do it when they do it. If they miss the deadline, the MD can be an ass all she wants - doesn’t matter

To get a reaction from you, of course 😘

I’m an incoming AC1 at Bain and I have spent the summer studying a bit for the GMAT since we had a stipend. I took it with no practice and received a 640. After studying on an off for a couple of months I received a 690. I’m likely going to cancel the score since I realize it isn’t enough for M7. To provide some more insight on my profile. I graduated undergrad from UofM BBA Magna Cum Laude, have interned in Big 4 consulting, IB, and VC, and I’m an Asian-American. What should I do?

I joined consulting before covid and really enjoyed the lifestyle (travel, events, socializing, afterworks). I’m young and it was a lot of fun. Now this lifestyle has been gone for two years and the only lifestyle is teams calls. I feel..bored? But bored is not the word. What do y’all do outside of work, during the week? My weekends are fun but my week is just work and teams calls… I’m 22 and I don’t wanna stay at home all day!!!! I wanna see the world

I started working in a agency two months ago, and I have two very big projects running simultaneously. My Creative Director left for paternity leave, and left me with all the work, facing the client, going to shootings, editing. I've been working 15 days straight, no weekends. The agency hasn't given me any back up/someone I can team up with to do the job. Is this normal? I'm used to have a partner, a copywriter or another creative working alongside. Keep in mind that I'm mid-level.

Legit question: now that 90% of you all don’t have an expense account or travel, why are you doing consulting? Wlb and pay are shit, professional dev opps are good but can be developed in 2-3 years - so why not leave after
