This happened to me and they “fired me” halfway through my notice, walked my partner and I out and did not pay us for the remaining week. Agencies can do pretty much whatever they want and have no soul when it comes down to it. Luckily the job I was going to let me start a little earlier than originally planned so it was fine. You’re not obligated to say where you’re going when you put your notice in, so I don’t.

Normally yes they will pay you but they don’t have to.
They need to pay you whatever the notice period is in your contract. If you're obligated to give two weeks notice and you offer to work those two weeks but they want to escort you out, then they need to pay you for those two weeks.

Depends on the laws in your state
Depends on the state. But if you haven’t done your exit paperwork yet, ask about it. And don’t agree to sign anything acknowledging your end date and any NDAs until they’ve confirmed they will pay you for those two weeks.
Employment at will - which is what most advertising agency state’s law would be - says no. Most agencies will, though.
