I am working as a managing associate at a US healthcare outsourcing company. Looking for better option Where I could grow my skills and take up leadership roles in the near future. I have a notice period of 60 days.

Why is IRA contribution better than maxing out 401k? I've seen most folks contribute the employer match, and put the rest in an IRA. I've just been maxing out my 401k

PSA 4 anyone looking at media agencies-stay far away from PHD (and Omnicom Media Group in general). As far as I can tell they are 1 of the only companies going from “we encourage you to come in 1x a week” to suddenly “its now mandated that everyone come in 3x week” - Senior leadership has done nothing to address many employees concerns of public safety, Covid, & mental health. Sounds like it’s “we’re paying rent here so let’s make sure we’re using it”. On top of that layoffs seem to be looming

Does anyone work or know someone works in banner health in Arizona? Especially the banner desert in Mesa, Arizona. Is it a good company to work? Or do you know anyone work as a registered dietitian in that area or that company? What is the salary range and any ideas how the environment is in that hospital? Thank you a lot!
Here’s an out of the box question: How do you get out of the insurance industry? I’ve heard that the longer you stay in, the harder it is to get out. Are there any other industries I can transition to?
I also have so many other interests like yoga, art, nutrition, real estate investing… I’m 25 and would ultimately like to be my own boss at some point.
How do you balance your 401k? Should I be keeping some cash on hand in case of downturns?
Does anyone know of someone with connection regarding healthcare open opportunities? I’m seeking a full time job position. Thank you.
Newbie here, what’s a good credit card for travel. Starting new job that requires a bit of travel and I’ll be expensing it / being reimbursed. I know I’ll eventually want to get Pre-check. From what I could found it looks like Amex Platinum, chase sapphire or platinum and or the capital one venture card would be my best option. Anyone have personal experience with these cards? Pros and cons
how’s everyone feeling about this?
Quite miffed as I just got a small pay rise and now I think this plus the upcoming not rises in utilities and inflation will pretty much cancel it out.
This country is fucked lol
We get quite a few folks around here that seem more in need of mental health services rather than punishment. What can be done to help out these people in the way that they need?
When renting an apartment in NYC, would a credit score from a couple of years ago suffice (due to a cancellation of your US credit card when moving abroad a couple years ago)? If not, has anyone used insurent when renting an apartment? How much do they cost and is it worth it? Are there any alternatives?
Has anyone heard of steadily insurance? Looking at new employment options and saw them posting on indeed and Glassdoor for remote sales. Saying $185k ote. The reviews just look very suspicious to me, like they are fake.

For those who had / were in mid-day weddings, when did you start the getting-ready process? I only have 4 bridesmaids/moh and it looks like we would have 1 hair and 1 MUA. Is 8am too late for an 11am wedding / 11:30am ceremony start?

I was hired as a contract employee as a Technical Support Specialist with a base pay of 60k. Now the management is interested in making me a full time employee after my contract ends. I was wondering if anyone is willing to share their net pay as a TSS with 6YOE. So that I have a number to negotiate. OpenText
Should I take this new full time job or stick to freelancing? FL offers so much flexibility and earning potential. FT would be me earning a lot less income and way less flexibility, but the place is a good fit. I really love freelancing and left my last FT job because I was sick of weekend work and being taken advantage of as a full time employee. I am very on the fence. Thoughts?
Had my baseline blood draw yesterday for my first IVF cycle. My doctor said we had about a 1-4 day window to start stims. Today, I got results back from my baseline stating that my estrogen levels are too high to start stims. Has anyone else had this happen before? Is there anything I should be doing/taking to lower it before stims?

General question: Is there any room in corporate America for real, actionable DE&I discussions and initiatives? I've observed so many corporate versions become an advertising strategy (SM posts, diversity reports) without doing the actual work (increasing representation in senior leadership, salary analyses, having an effective reporting system for bias). Is this just how it is?

Edward Jones advisor with 30 million AUM and roughly 250k gross production. Been there for almost 4 years. Got an offer at Merrill Lynch to take over a 100 million dollar retirement transition plan in 5 years, or to join a 5 person Merrill Lynch team that manages a lot.
Pros to EJ: Have my own office, a year or two away from partnership, great office setting and client satisfaction.
Pros to Merrill: Bump in compensation, additional tools and services w banking, ability to take over assets.

I'm currently looking for entry level opportunities in advisory. I'm fully licensed (SIE/7/63/65) and ready to start my CFP as soon as it's affordable or sponsored. I'm struggling to find opportunities that don't have a large emphasis on insurance sales. Anyone have any recommendations or opportunities?
