McKinsey & Company McKinsey & Company been working here one year and received pretty positive feedback. Given the expectation for people of my tenure to transition to EM in a year or so, I can’t see myself staying due to the WLB as an EM. I’m 35 and have 2 young kids. Can it even be realistically done? Would love to stay but I don’t see a balance which would keep my family happy. What options do I have from there?

EY1 - I am a immigrant as well. The overall consensus from veterans is they are FOR people who kneel or sit as those are the rights they fought for. They are thousands of people dying everyday due to shootings and thousands dying because they can't afford medical care. Thousands dying of obesity related deaths and Opioid overdoses. Thousands of people will lose their jobs due to automation over then next decade. WE all have BIGGER Fish to fry. Please sit down
Witnessed a drunk white man spit on and try to swing at two police officers last weekend. The officers put him and his friends in an uber to go home. Had that been a black man, he would have had 6 warning shots in the back of his head. At the very least he would have been thrown on the ground with a knee in his back and put in jail. This clear display of white privilege is why they should continue to kneel and practice their right to free speech.
Kneeling
I'm a white American and would kneel.
Only idiots are ashamed
Standing 💯
If people cared more about the knee in Freddy Gray's back than knees on turf, we could end all of this.
I would be pissing. On Donald Trump. Because I'm not American.
White combat vet - I'd kneel.
Also, you do realize there's an entire unsung stanza in the national anthem dedicated to killing slaves, right? You do realize that Francis Scott Key's life work as a lawyer was dedicated to keeping black people enslaved and preventing us from having basic human rights, right?
Kneeling till Dotard is removed from power
Kneeling. I'm a white guy. I think Obama had a very good line about this - if you're someone who'd kneel, take the time to understand why that would be very upsetting to, say, the family of a veteran KIA. But just as importantly, if the kneeling upsets you, take the time to understand why that person is kneeling, what problem is driving them to speak out (which, so many seem to ignore/forget right now, is a bedrock right of this nation.) Have a real conversation with people and seek to understand rather than critique and condemn. Feeling upset, for either reason, is legitimate. Protecting the act is necessary.
You do also realize that these NFL players do A LOT in their communities and give millions of dollars every year in charitable contributions. More than any of us do. So when people say "there are other ways to protest," I'm really not sure what else you want these men to do. It is their responsibility as celebrities to use their platforms to stand (or kneel) against these injustices, just as they're doing ✊🏾
Funny how it's more "shaming" to exercise your right to protest, which is what the flag represents, but it's not shaming to actually commit crimes. Folks are more up in arms about players exercising their rights than beating women or doing drugs. Not to mention we all know your ass is sitting down drinking a beer on your couch or playing on your damn phone when the anthem is played (but you're all upset folks on TV aren't standing 😳🙄)
Black dude here- kneeling all day. Shout out to the white people in here who understand and would be willing to kneel. Black civil rights will never be addressed without white support.
Having sex with all the women
The hypocrisy surrounding how we treat the flag is amazing. The thing we as Americans do to it every single day is disrespectful- putting it on bikinis, using it to drive sales, doing a whole bunch of things that are specifically noted as things you shouldn't do with the American flag. All of a sudden exercising your freedom of speech by kneeling is the most disrespectful thing you can do? Everyone who is taking a knee has a right to do so, and it's not like they're talking during the anthem. They're still silent and reflecting, just not standing. Everyone doing it has a reason for doing so, and I don't want to live in a country where I need to justify my reasons for doing something as a private citizen to the general public for their approval. Half the people in this country don't even know the anthem....that's disrespectful. I am an immigrant who is a very proud citizen of this county and while I stand for the anthem, I completely support those who kneel and do so in a respectful manner.
Standing. And refusing to play with those sitting. There are other ways to protest without shaming your country
JJ Watts. Put my money and popularity to something good.
Why should a national anthem be played in a sports even, in first place, unless it is an international competition?
