I’m currently a maxed out GS-15 Step 10. Masters degree is Electrical/Computer Engineering, but now a Program Manager for a high visibility area. I have 10 years to reach full retirement age (57). Why do I feel like I’m limiting myself? What would the pros and cons be of seeking private industry employment at this point? What would an equivalent salary be taking into account pension, etc? Anyone else been in, or is in this situation?

I currently use Skype for business. Debating about adding webex but also considering gotomeeting. Anyone here use the latter two?

So I felt my acting manager, my actual manager is on mat leave, was a bit aggressive in her response to me and I mentioned it to her. Now she is like micromanaging like hell. How do I handle this? She comes of passive aggressive but I just ignore because she is not my manager it’s temporary. I couldn’t let this slide without letting her know I felt her response was aggressive

My ultimate goal is to get into consulting - I have two years left of my DBA and I have been told I missed the deadline for campus recruiting for next year. Would it be smart to apply for a executive assistant job and then once I have my foot in the door with the company and some experience, apply for a consulting role? Or would that be a bad idea?
