If you were in the market for a vehicle, would you buy an all electric now or as your next car in the future? Seeing that we are shifting in that direction…

Wait. I like EVs, but they are not ready for prime time. The time it takes to charge and the utter lack of infrastructure, along with the wait times at charging stations when you get there will make your vehicle much less useful than anything with an ICE component. Long distances; no way. If you want a cleaner vehicle pollution wise (not manufacturing wise as they are actually worse) get a plug in hybrid. You can use on EV power around town, but still drive a long distance. To me, asking 40-50k + for an Electric vehicle that is less useful than any other options already on the market is not the definition of progress, it is a bandaid. We need real solutions to deal with climate change and the fact that fossil fuels are a limited resource (one day we will have exhausted it all).

EVs require mined minerals. The batteries are toxic, they take an insane amount of time & effort to make, and require fossil fuels to manufacture them and manufacture all the other parts that make up the vehicle.

I think they are neat. I think they are fun. I do not think they are clear path to a cleaner future for all of us on earth.

I’ll wait on an EV. This is the last hurrah for gas cars and EVs will only get better in the future

DO YOU JUST ASSUME THE COST OF YOUR MARKETING ACTIVITIES? I am looking to allocate their cost in the marketing budget in a way that won't rely on several layers of assumptions. How do you reliably estimate the cost of different marketing activities (email, social, web, etc) when you don't have specific people or tools allocated to each function and costs are spread across many channels? Ads seems the easiest, but even then there's time and overheads... I've been looking for a reliable model.

He also exhibits stalker like behavior by looking up my family online (addresses, emails, phone numbers, FB/Twitter accounts, you name it) and driving by my house and commenting on things I was doing during the weekend or after work. I am fed up with it and am starting to apply elsewhere. I don’t think I’ll be able to get the same total comp though. More in comments..

Is anyone else concerned about the direction the automotive world is heading in, and the overall bigger impact to society when no one can afford to own/have a car? I feel like there’s a perfect storm brewing and with the help of Covid and chip shortages and senseless forced adoption of EVs, in a few years common ppl won’t be able to afford a car and even those in upper income classes will be hard pressed. And when people can’t travel freely on their own, that will have downstream FX on society

If I buy a car from a private seller out of state where I’m paying off their lien, then there’s a delay until the bank and dmv sync up and release the lien on the title, does the car just have to stay with the seller or I have to pay to ship it to me? I don’t see how I can drive it back without the title, which is required to get a temp transport plate. Car is in Wisconsin I’m in Illinois, and lien is with Chase bank.

I ordered a Tesla model 3 SR in April and I am able to take delivery this weekend, however I’m now unsure of whether it’s the right move financially. I have a lease on a 2020 BMW X3 that will end next month and was wondering if I should just buy that out and drive it for a few years. If it makes a difference I’m in SoCal so gas is $$$, but no EV charging in my apartment.

Tesla: $830/month + charging and insurance
BMW: $600/m + $150 gas + maint/insurance

Any thoughts? Is the Tesla worth it?
