Does JPMorgan entertain counter offers ?
I have an offer of 18.5 lpa including bonus.
At the time of HR discussion, I was under the impression that this will be 18.5 fixed + bonus
I already have 19.5 fixed CTC offer from Emids and Indegene is ready to pay 23 lpa including joining Bonus.
I am keen to join JP morgan but I want to negotiate the offered CTC.
During HR discussion, HR said they'll not entertain any counter offers later on

Hopefully long enough to find another job
One month. Maybe two.
Sure, theoretically I could sell my house now and maybe pocket $200k to 300k if I move very fast. But I suspect that given the current market I would have a tough time selling and the value will be going down quickly. Plus I need to live somewhere and rent would right now would cost about the same as my mortgage. Though rents may go down now that the economy has tanked.

Hahaha I do Excel, I just don’t excel at saving money.
Here I fixed the formula and got rid of the #REF. Now my formula shows the days between me losing my job (A1) and me looting for food (A2)
=DAYS(A1,A2)

Reducing some of our lifestyle expenses, should be able to sustain at least 24 months before going to retirement. But that’s absolutely draining all investments and liquidity we have.

1 year at current lifestyle. 2-2.5 years if adjusted and if my wife stops spending. Luckily, the current UI situation would cover most, if not all, of our monthly expenses.

3 years with no lifestyle change. No I don’t live with my parents. This is money that I am planning to buy a house with.
If I lost job immediately after buying a house: 3 months
I get that lifestyle expenses typically go up with income, but you can still live below your means
Atleast 6 months. Roughly 5000-5500 dollars a month in expenses. This is with no cuts and absolutely maintaining the same lifestyle .. which is frugal to start with. Most of this is mortgage.. 3k a month. Rest is car payment .. insurance.. food (we eat at home a lot).. phone/internet/electric etc.
This is in NJ. Any decent place would cost me that much in rent every month anyway. And ey recently moved from 24 paychecks to 26 paychecks a year. In which case I would be close to 30% which is standard.. but still on the high end. No question about it.

2 years without any lifestyle changes. Would've been like 3 when we were at the market highs :(
