Networking question here. A retired partner at the firm I used to work out reached out to me recently about attending an afternoon during the week (b4 4/30) with one of his long time clients. The partner and I have kept in touch since I joined my new firm and I feel like his invitation is a great networking opportunity since the client (who I have worked with before) is on a number of boards. Torn as how to request off as an S3. Could materialize to nothing but could be good for reconnecting.

Hello! I’m actively looking for a new People Operation Manager position, and I’m hoping anyone has leads. I’ve been in HR/People Operations for 5+ years with multiple rapid growth beauty industry brands of 100+ employees. I’ve managed the full employee lifecycle, from recruiting to terminations and everything in between. I’ve also owned the implementations of multiple HRIS systems, from the planning stage to training staff. I have experience with Gusto, BambooHR/Trax Payroll, Paylocity and ADP.

Has anyone had experience in both the nonprofit and corporate sectors? Most of my experience in college was with nonprofits but I’m currently working in corporate retail. There are a lot of things I miss about the nonprofit sector and I am considering about making the move back but want to weigh my pros and cons. I am one year out of grad school so any knowledge regarding how to navigate the workforce as a newbie is welcomed. Thank you!

The amount of people, even attorneys, who can't separate out the policy merits of abortion from the issue of whether it is a constitutional right is disappointing. I consider myself pro-choice ---I believe states should allow it, that the federal government can pass a statute to guarantee it, and that FDA statutes and regulations will preempt any state trying to ban chemical abortions through FDA approved drugs. Dobbs at its core is a case about the Due Process Clause, not the policy of abortion
