So we never are able to actually receive the full 15K in your example and only are able to get the incremental gains per year…?
yup, just the gains. the 15k is not really ours. so if SKP grew by 0% in 2022 in my example, the value of your options is $0 in december 2022
Hmm this doesn’t quite make sense. Think of it like your buying a stock equal to 15% of your salary. Now that amount operates like an option. You essentially have a 4 year maturity on it and for each of those years 25% vests - so if you pull in your first year you should get 25% of the 15k if the firm has no growth. If the firm grows the index rises and the 15k will rise by the index.
At least this is my interpretation and how I’ve seen this program work.
Why does it now “literally take 2+ more years to reach partner”? I’m out of the loop
