Found out this week an old friend is now having a kid. This person is a good human but for a variety of reasons, they aren’t so great when it comes to anything romantic with the opposite sex (myself, mutual friends, etc). They managed to get pregnant with someone lives across the country from their old neighborhood. Instead of being happy for them, I hate that the only thing I can think is this will always come to mind taking safe sex precautions knowing that it was definitely unplanned.

Picking up a puppy this weekend and I’m nervous. My partner and I have talked about getting a dog for a couple years and we both want it, but I’m nervous about the responsibility, about the length of commitment, what if I’m not a good dog parent, and worried if we will feel that dog ownership isn’t for us. Parenting question: Most of my extended family and in-laws are blue collar workers. While I went to grad school & did well in my career, they don't aspire for much & are very content working 9-5 manually intensive jobs. I realize I sound like a coastal elite, but ideas such as wealth creation and retiring early don't appeal to them. I'm concerned some of their ideas, especially the lack of drive, would impact my kid if they spent time with them. Is my concern valid & if so how to manage?

Married woman with a 2 year old kid and found out last week that my husband has been cheating on me for the last 1 year with a coworker who lives in the same apartment complex. Feel like a fool as we all meet socially (she is married too, without kids) and we have had them over at our place so many times (part of our Covid bubble). Just had an argument with the wife about who's working "harder" at this moment. She's a nurse and I respect what she's going through. But she's making it seem like things is all easy with me working from home and watching a toddler by myself. I argued well I acknowledged how hard you worked during maternity leave while watching our daughter while I worked. I'm basically doing both roles at the same time. She said its not really the same thing but I think thats hypocritical. Am I wrong?

I broke up with my boyfriend because I do not feel comfortable with him meeting other girls all the time. Some are his ex, some he fucked years ago, some are normal friends. I do not understand why he needs all the non ambitious girls (most of them got pregnant in their early 20ies and are now single moms or having simple jobs like working in a hotel or as a nurse) in his life when he has me as a partner at eye level. Am I to conservative with wanting to be more exclusive? What is your opinion?

My upstairs neighbor hit my car and made a big stink about paying for the damages. Turns out her kid (16) hit my car so she didn’t want to go thru insurance because her kid doesn’t have a license. She finally paid, and her 16 year old kid continues to illegally drive without a license. Is it too petty to call the cops when I see this kid illegally driving?

5 months pregnant with our second, a boy. Our first is a girl. We’re debating circumcising him or not. My husband is, and everyone we know typically does it. But I think it’s a barberic practice. Opinions? Posting to get more of a wide range of opinions (nationally in us and globally). What would you do? Did you do? We will obviously talk to our doctor too but curious on general sentiment around circumcision.
