I have a weird background. I was raised by a narcissistic but intelligent single mom. My father, also an intelligent man, is smart enough to shy away from her. Because of her workoholism and mental issues, I lived with my grandparents from age 6-17 per an agreement with CPS.
I have always worked very hard and long hours, both in HS, C, LS and then some yrs in biglaw. And I was much happier then when there was always smthng to do and my inbox was full.

Making a lateral move to Deloitte and signed my offer last week. But now my recruiter called today and told me they are moving me to a different office in the same state and to sign a new offer letter. But said I could switch back when the firm returns to the office. I’m currently living in a different state anyways till travel begins again. But seemed super strange to me, any thoughts?

I’m in my early 30s, I have a decent job & income, I travel frequently (my passion), I’m fit (ish) with body fat 14%, I’m not the “omg hot” type but I’ve been told by many that I’m decent looking. Only thing is I’m single & I find dating to be hard (I’m in the LGBT group) and sometimes I feel so lonely. Is there anyone else in the same boat?

Bernie should really put country and party before his own ego. No candidate is perfect, but primary results and previous candidates are rallying around Biden. Bernie staying is pure narcissism.

living at home with my parents and they both tested positive for covid this week. I haven’t felt so great this past week, and I’ve most probably caught it from them. Going to get tested tomorrow as well. That being said, we’re going into our heaviest week of busy season. I know I should be able to take time off cause of covid but I feel bad. Like I could sit in front of my laptop and do work, but my body feels so weak and sometimes I’m a little slow. (Cont.)

Hi. I need some advice. So my dad was deported from the USA in 1988 back to his country on a misdemeanor charge. I’m trying to get him back here but when I reached out to the attorney that dealt with his case he said he’s retired now and don’t even know where to find his case files. The new attorney said she could get them from the courts but it may take up to a year before that happens. Is there any other way to get his files from the court? I just feel there is a quicker way. NB. This is in NY
