Don’t listen to copy1 ☝️ — that’s awful advice. Be passionate, work hard, all obvious but never offer to work for free and never come straight out of the gate offering to compromise before the conversation even happens.
Take my above advice and let them take it from there. You’ll be coming in as a junior which is cheap for them. If they like you and have the budget then they’ll do what they can to make it happen. Good luck
You should let people know that you really enjoy it there and you’d love to stay on after your internship ends
Unfortunately this business is about connections so try to get in good face time with a creative director who has clout. Grab coffee with them and tell them that you love the agency and would love to stay on. Don’t offer to work for free but be open to freelance to hire if they don’t have any junior positions open at the moment. Make yourself known as someone who is up for any assignment and someone who knows you’re ready to pay your dues. There is no project that an intern or junior should refuse...when you’ve proven your worth you’ll get the luxury of choice—sometimes.
Be proactive and talk to the Intern manager. The ones we have are all amazing at communicating and really care about it and I am sure will escalate it. Good luck OP!

Offer to work a week for free. Come in guns blazing. Be passionate. Get involved. Then ask if they’d like to keep you next week for $300/day. Then keep working hard until they offer you a salary.
Thank you everyone for all of the advice!
