If you’re the only accountant on the team and about to put in resignation, would you offer to stay on part time until they hire someone? Or am i absolutely crazy?

Only if they paid me. Like a lot.

Presumably you’re leaving to go somewhere else, so 1.5 jobs might be tough.

That better opportunity is going to want your full attention, and you'll want your free time.

And unless you both agree to a very high hourly consulting rate, they'll likely act as if you're still a full-time employee and give you the same amount of work.

Lol definitely not. If I liked the company I'd give them a three weeks notice so they have more time

Your new job might not allow dual employment

Help me understand what is customary for an onboarding processing time these days. I accepted an offer a week ago with a start date in two weeks. Its been one week with no mail or links to get the background and onboarding in motion. I have reached out to both the recruiter on Friday and the hiring manager. Crickets.

Hi AEM Debelopers,

I have got into a frontend Project as a AEM UI Developer in my new company, and I will be switching from a react developer role.
About AEM I checked and found on net that it is a niche skill, so very less experienced developers are there. And job openings are also less, as compared to react. Please provide some information about it. Is it a good role? What will be it's future scope and demand, like let's say after two years of experience in AEM?

Leaving my law firm on Friday.
Any ideas for what to get for the following people?
1. Partner I work with on pretty much everything (we’re quite close- he swears a lot and is a great mentor)
2. Two paralegals (not on the best terms but we are cordial)
3. Partner I work with sometimes (very nice guy)
4. Associate I barely know
Should I just get a gift for the partner 1 and lump in all the other people by getting the law firm a gift basket? Any recommendations for gift baskets?

This might be a stupid question - how do you get talking to a recruiter? I’ve put in a couple of applications but not had anything back - I’m pretty self aware but genuinely think I’m a very good fit (on paper at least), and feel like talking to a recruiter would help either concretely explain why im perhaps not a good fit, or actually give me a fighting chance amidst a sea of resumes. Any help welcome!

Firms should really start lowering the mandatory retirement age in partnership agreements before these old out of touch partners drive the entire industry into the ground. These people legitimately think the high turnover we’re experiencing is caused by remote work and people “not feeling close” rather than insane hours and compensation 🤦🏼‍♀️.

What’s your response to a sales director that tells you to change how you recognize revenue. They are also pushing for weird payment terms where the customer takes ownership of the product but the days don’t start counting against their terms until weeks later. This came up because the customer controls the product but can’t use it immediately. I already said best approach is to just give longer terms (this customer doesnt deserve that though) but they are weirdly persistent with their idea.

Which offer would you choose and why, Disney AFRP in LA or Big 4 Audit in large southern metro? Pay is similar (~$60K). AFRP rotations include: 1. Transactional Accounting, 2. Financial Reporting, 3. Audit & Compliance, 4. Finance.
Will the AFRP make me a more desirable candidate for future FP&A/ strategy-type roles, as opposed to audit? Are the doors opened by the the AFRP worth the quality of life of living in LA on $60K? Thanks in advance for the advice.
