When I moved in-house a year ago as a BigLaw mid-level, I took a 45% pay cut, far more than I was comfortable with (although I was fine with a 20-30% cut). I took the job because it was a great role and I was focused on making the jump in house and developing the skills I wanted, which required me moving away from my firm practice area. Now that my year-end review is coming up, how do I ask my company for a significant pay raise (not just a 2-5% inflation-matching raise)?

Anyone else have a positive screener interview with HR, good thank-you email exchange follow-up, and then not hear anything for over a week? This doesn’t seem normal…but I’m still waiting.

Currently working on a three person team in a larger GC group. I lateraled from a different group that did not pay attorneys on an attorney scale. I’m stuck in my old pay scale but have gotten promotions and raises quickly with more on the horizon. How do I get signatories to fill in their company name correctly on a DocuSign PowerForm NDA? I’m not allowed to reach out to people in advance and prepare customized NDAs for them, because “everyone is automated” and “that’s too slow and causes too much work for them.” I moved the signatory info to the signature block and made a “Full Legal Name of Entity you Represent” line, but people still screw it up and I’m getting blamed. Im a 6th year associate working for a company that I plan to stay at long term. Currently working under a G.C. that does not analyze anything from a legal perspective, occupies herself with mostly admin/operational issues, and doesnt give any direction on how she wants things “handled.” Just looking for any suggestions from people who have successfully dealt with this before.
