If you’ve switched from HR generalist (manager, director, etc.) roles to specialize in something, can you share how you made the switch? Curious how to articulate to potential employers how I’m qualified to specialize rather than be a generalist, if generalist roles are what I have for 6+ years of experience. Thanks!

I had a interview for Human resources assistant position yesterday and while screening me. The lady mentioned that the position has already been filled as of yesterday but they still want to continue my screening for the future. I told her that we can continue if there are similar job opportunities open which there is another position but it has "ALSO" been filled as of today. I was just so irritated. I feel like it was just a waste of my time if I decided to going forward.

Hi! I’m a young professional with less than 2 years experience, started a new job 1.5 months ago. I’m having quite some difficulties on balancing out my response time to tasks. While I act incredibly fast if not immediately with some, I sometimes take 1-2 weeks with couple of hours worthy ones. My company is in need of a update online, could use your opinions! We need to better showcase our culture (caring, supportive, fun, intelligent IT industry leaders) as well as diversity. We are predominantly white still but making strides to improve here. What’s the best way to approach?
