Hi fishes, in urgent need of your suggestions.
One of my friend is having offer from Oracle Pune for software developer role in Oracle store team. but he does not have clear idea of the role whether it will be operations, support or development work.
Does anyone know what kind of work is there in store team. Also, is it possible to change the project once we get inside?
Urgent suggestions required...
Thanks!
Ladies, take note: Corona pick up lines are here.

Dear God please give me the strength
Wanted to share smth I found recently. I felt like it was pretty darn accurate. I’ll provide the link here but there’s a screenshot I took that I feel I can relate to quite heavily. https://pairedlife.com/love/infatuations
I’ve struggled with so many heavy infatuations before and a friend recommended this. Hope it helps anyone else out there who’s gone through this or may be going through this right now.

I took a few weeks off for depression and I was in no condition to build a new life. I was in paralysis mode. But I had five things I needed to do every day:
1) Wake up by 8am and go to bed by 11pm
2) Shower - no joke
3) Go outside
4) Read at least an hour
5) Spend at least an hour with my kids
I also did therapy once or twice a week and was able to do some work on myself between sessions. That may not sound like much, but given where I was at it was huge
Take care of foundation and basics while in regular frequent therapy - sleep, food, water, exercise. I slowly eased back into social life. I tried to create some routine in my day so that I didnt spend all day in bed. But said no to all faux obligations.
Get all your personal affairs in order. Catch up on things that you’ve been putting off or have fallen behind on. I’m sure you’ve heard of the concept ‘inbox zero,’ just apply it to your life. Take a trip. Read Exercise. You can come back stronger than ever. You got this.
I think therapy is a good start honestly. I’ve known people who have made it a point to travel, stay with family to ensure they have a good support system, pick up a new hobby and anything to just get them to a better place mentally. Wishing you the best OP
I took 3 months off to backpack in East Asia. It absolutely convinced me that my depression was due to work
I haven't taken such a leave of absence, but if I ever did (God knows I am fantasizing about it)... Regular exercise and time to build a hobby would be high on the list of things I do..
Depends on what your mental health issue is, but I would talk to your therapist about any top notch outpatient treatment services they may have. A lot of professionals go to them and they do help in addressing whatever mental health issues you may be facing.
Thank you everyone. Your replies have been really helpful
All excellent advice above. Socialize, hobby, self esteem building issues, maybe an animal. Highly recommend going to a float tank at least once. Routine, routine, routine, I think. Be careful not to isolate yourself
Not silly at all! I find repetitive activities like knitting (or in my case crochet) to be so therapeutic. It's meditative, and you can actually see the physical progress!
OP can you elaborate on your process of taking this LOA? Is this a paid leave? And did you have to show documentation of any sort from a doctor?
I am so lost and at a point where I considering putting in my two weeks without a job lined up
I chose to take leave instead of quitting so that I didn’t replace one source of anxiety (my toxic work environment) with another (not having a job). Now I can take time to truly focus on recovering and learning how to avoid this kind of breakdown again.
