You can still apply but almost all the Big 4s and other Mid-tier firms are currently not sponsoring any H1bs. It’s been challenging for people within US, and if this is your first time coming to US, it’s quite involved. On side note, if you have an H1b picked up and applied but not used, you can use it anytime in future. I don’t know if there are any restrictions to that.
Try. Why not? Tho, competition right now is fierce
OP: I was in a similar situation in 2015
1. Did you get it stamped?
2. If no stamping and just approval, if you try to transfer thru another company. You will have to go thru the entire process of a normal h1b lottery pick.
3. What's skillset and is there a demand? Are you single or with family? What do you draw currently and what type of salary you expecting. So many factors to consider and play
4. You will lose your peace of mind, trying to do that from India. Currently, the market here is f*****d up. Even with great skills and knowledge, folks don't want to hire ppl on visas
5. You have it till 2022, 2 more years. Things might change for good. So you can try it anytime, I think even after you change company in India from Deloitte to something else. If it is stamped
Deloitte 8 : Low pay at USI, Basically wasting my Visa sitting in India, can atleast drive conversations online with clients when I am there.

Ofc you should. People with h1bs outside US are always applying for new jobs!
One advise.. try not to be in strategic roles here. Get into product or technical roles. Else UK might be better
When does your H-1B expire?
Expiring in Aug 2022
What’s ur skillset?

Agree with d3.... no one will hire h1b right now for anything other than hardcore developer in niche areas....your best bet is to travel for Deloitte....

There's no harm in you applying to jobs and seeing where it lands. That being said, it's going to be harder than ever before for the following reasons:
1) Bad economy and layoffs across industries
2) You'll be competing with several people in the US who lost their jobs and are on h1 and are aggressively looking for something so they don't have to uproot their lives within 60 days
3) The executive order and it's affect on travel post Dec 2020 is unknown - no way to predict how that'll go
4) Many (not all) companies in general aren't hiring people who need immigration support and that general trend decreases your chance

Well OP, you realize no one in the US is client facing either. The pandemic has and will change how consulting works and how much travel is needed. You're not wasting your time being offshore any more than all of us working from home and not seeing our clients.
Honestly, your chances are slim. Unless you graduated from oxford, no one in here cares about mba degrees we get outside. Many won’t even know what Deloitte or any other consulting firm is. Thousands of local folks with known mba programs diplomas to every recruiter apply to every single role right now. You’re competing vs 150-200 people (check LinkedIn if you don’t believe me) for good roles, and vs 50-100 for ok roles. I suggest to wait a year. I’m here in us with a us mba degree from a known university to everyone struggling to get a single call after 100 applications. The odds are not in your favor
Thanks for the context. Appreciate it!
