VP, AD 1. This is absolutely more room for understanding the other side from both sides. And if we were simply talking about Liberals and Conservatives trying to find common ground I would agree wholeheartedly. But that has literally NOTHING to do with why people are upset about this Administration and this guy being our President. For starters he ran a juvenile campaign that was 100% about stoking fears, promoting bigotry and telling lies.There are now sanctions against Russia because finally they’ve accepted that they interfered in the election. There is an ongoing investigation into whether the campaign was in collusion with the Russian government which has cast aspersions of treason since day 1. From that day on the clown car of appointees in the cabinet and otherwise has been a series of ghastly unqualified and nepotistic choices all of which has had the effect of diminishing the stature of the office in the eyes of Americans and our allies. He has regularly attacked anyone who disagrees with him - and treats the Press as a hostile enemy because he would prefer a sycophantic propaganda machine surrounding him. And when he doesn’t hear what he wants he attacks and lashed out with the temperament of a child. He’s questioned the role of NATO. He’s called diplomacy to a nuclear threat ‘a waste of time’. He’s likely cheated on his wife with a tawdry porn star because he thinks the rules don’t apply to him and that his money buys him that privilege which is also who he thinks you can grab women ‘by the pussy’ and get away with it. And yet evangelicals inexplicably continue to support him.
This has absolutely nothing to do with ‘seeing the point of view of the other side’. This isn’t about Politics. This is about decency and morality and standing up against bigotry and a tyrant. This is ABSOLUTELY about right and wrong. Don’t expect people to EVER not see it that way.
Trump apologist? Try again. His presidency makes me fear the lives of my family overseas. But go on with your assumptions ✌️

I’m not in NYC, and in fact I come from the “other side” having been a registered republican in a Blue state most of my life. so I think I understand the thinking on the right pretty well. No way in hell I’d want to be associated with the Republican Party these days. Disgraceful embarrassments, all of them (the politicians, not conservatives in general). The democrats aren’t much better, but holy shit the Republican Party is trash these days. Good luck with all of that I guess.

Trump apologists will always scream about liberals not wanting to hear the other side, but it’s true of both sides really. And it IS about right and wrong and calling out the wrong on both sides. It just so happens that most of it is coming from trump and his team these days. Or at least the most egregious examples are anyway.
