Live your life the way you want to and don’t let getting into 2 schools determine every decision you make. You could literally do “everything” right from what people tell you and never get into HBS or GSB. Start off in your career by seeking out projects that interest you, and trying to perform at the best of you ability. Do ECs that actually interest you. And when the time comes if you still want to do an MBA ask recs from people who actually give a crap about you and not just have a fancy title/rank. You will be fine

Honestly, I know a lot of the MBA process is creating a story that’s true to you, I also understand a lot of the application process is about telling AdCom what they want to hear. To Pwcs point, you could do everything right and still not get into GSB or HBS. My recommendation is to start thinking through what you’re looking to do in the long run. It’s not set in stone just because you adopt it as a story, but you have to make sure your work experience and EC aligns to that and how the MBA at any M7 will help you to do just that. Try to make it authentic, do your research on what candidates GSB and HBS are looking for, but honestly, whatever you imagine now might be totally different from what you actually do in 10 years, so don’t be afraid to dream big.

Emphasis on that last sentence. Planning is essential but plans are irrelevant. Let life take you on a journey as it wishes. If you stick too close to your “plans” you will miss out on a lot. Don’t let’s HBS drive your life.

Cool ed channel! Which is it? How’d you get into it? Feel free to dm!

Let’s pretend we’re holding companies. I’ll start: No, we can’t hire an extra writer even though you’re clocking 70+ hours a week. BTW, our contract with your client caps billable hours per employee because they know we don’t pay overtime. Here’s a non-billable code you should start using for the rest of the year.

I currently have my green card process ongoing with Publicis Sapient; I-485 was filed more than 180 days ago, however, the I-140 is not approved yet. If I leave for another employer at this stage, is it likely that they might withdraw the I-140 which would mean withdrawing the green card process completely? I do have a previously approved EB2 I-140 which was downgraded to EB3 I-140 in October last year and is awaiting approval.
