I’m 27, saving up to buy my own property. In the meantime I’m Looking to invest a portion of my savings in the stock market or real estate. What are some best practices on how much % to invest vs. let sit in a savings account. What is a fairly safe yet lucrative investment strategy?

Lucrative and safe don’t belong in the same sentence

OP’s at EY. Investing in empathetic leadership is clearly both lucrative and safe

I don’t think it’s a set rule. But I would have an emergency fund fully liquid in case you need it (3-6 months salary) and then it would depend on what you need the money for. If your saving for a house I would let it sit or put in a CD if you plan to purchase soon. But if you don’t need the money for 5+ years I would feel comfortable investing in the market. I would just avoid a situation where you have a plan for the money in a year and the market tanks and you lose half of it putting you in a situation where you can buy whatever you were saving for.

5+ year timeline put whatever you are comfortable with in S&P index fund and sleep well at night :)

Dollar cost averaging. Buy into a broad based index fund every paycheck. Don’t try to time it. You are T smarter than the market.

Precious metals

For stocks — invest in broad indexes and dollar cost average at key support levels

I'm inclined towards Fidelity coz I plan to invest 30-50k and feel it's a secure institution compared to RH. Your thoughts, please.

Does anyone have recommendations on how to decide your next career move?

Been at Deloitte for ~2 years & trying to decide between moving to MBB, corporate strat, a start-up, or small PE firm. I know these are all extremely different but torn on which to pursue.

Any recommendations, stories, or regrets on when you moved from Big 4 to somewhere else??

I’m looking for feedback on a startup idea. It’s a professional social media site with primarily two product features. 1) professionals posting about their thoughts, ideas..etc. it will be a single page of content that users can scroll and read. (Similar to TikTok) however the scroll would be right to left. 2) anyone would be able to ask Questions to a professional. They would be incentivized by giving a payout to answers they write.
This platform would have a $5/month subscription fee.

I am a first year and just started with the firm as an auditor. The more I go through busy season, the more I realize I don’t want to pursue audit. Can someone tell me how I can switch into advisory internally? or if I should just apply externally and leave? Also is it too soon to leave since I’m only a first year, or can I leave right after the busy season? Not sure what to do but don’t want to spend more time at a job I don’t love.
