I’m 29 years old making 80k a year and have $10k in 1% debt and 50k in savings. If I don’t have 1 million dollars in net assets by the time I’m 40 I’m killing myself.

I mean this in the nicest way possible, but this is an extremely unhealthy mindset to have. Something I’ve been working on with my therapist is to find ways to validate my self-worth outside of my work achievements. It sounds like you’re doing the same with money. Your assets are not a reflection of who you are. There’s a lot more to life than a seven figure bank account! I might recommend finding a professional to talk about this with. Sending you happy thoughts

What! Why would you say that? Are you really tying your life worth into net assets? Okay if you have $1m then what will you do then? Will it magically make you happier?

I am older , 44ish and can tell from my experience having 1 Mil didn’t change a thing in lifestyle as by the time you have it you are way along in life with other priorities and things on your mind. The most fun you have is young and making decent to travel and buy a new car or watch or other pleasures. The further in age you are you will try and go in preserve and grow mode rather than spend mode. I still cherish my new car at 50k salary than now

Have you been to therapy to figure out your obsession with making money?

I love women and want to have sex with more and more, and better quality women. But I’m not tall or good looking

Maybe this will be the kick in the ass that I need. I’ve come to terms with this life being unfair.

All I’ve ever wanted is to have money. Life’s not worth living mediocre. If I have $500,000 at 40 I’ll put it all on black

If you are single w no kids following the same trajectory, then yes, why not. If you’re making 150 at 35 with a wife and 2 kids - it won’t happen. Just being real here.

Okay this is just on you now. You have to have enough realization that looks aren’t the only factor and then and only then we can help.

But I also don’t want to scare them away and lose their talent.
