I’m 30, and I still randomly have dreams about my first love from middle school/high school….either good past times or happily reuniting and catching up as if no time has passed.

My gf and I are having a big discussion and I would love to get your thoughts on this. It’s about how much we keep in touch and communicate when I’m on the road. She needs to hear from me everyday multiple times and if I don’t answer her texts within a few hours, she can get quite controlling (text over and over again, also on my work phone, asks what I am doing and gets upset). I am not used to that and have the trust if she doesn’t text back, that it’s for good reasons, busy at work…. (Ctd)

Does anyone else get severely frustrated with their parent's lack of technical proweress? I feel bad but my parents are so out of the loop it's becoming taxing on our relationship. I'm a working mother currently on maternity leave for 2nd kid. I've been able to perform well these days but in reality it feels so difficult to keep up. My family cares about my husband's career and expects me to be supportive of his frustrations but I'm right here slowing down my own career growth which could be a lot better with at least some moral support. My tech stack is cloud, Devops and he is into teaching.
I feel low trying to have WLB like fighting alone.

A reminder: use the slow times to catch up on life, rather than wiling away the hours sitting at your desk waiting for emails to come in. This last week was my slowest in years, but used it to clean and organize my place, vehicle, and get the nursery ready for our first child. Time well spent.

I used to be a special Ed teacher and changed careers to an executive assistant at BMO after facing major burnout from teaching. Now that I’m a first time mom, i really want to work part time or even .75, but I do not want to go back to teaching right now. GF and I are moving in together soon (4 months) after a couple of years in LDR but have been together for 6 years total. She lived with her parents for 2 years while finishing up her doctorate program. Her parents are very conservative and against us living together without being married. We’re thinking we’re going to do it anyways lol. Given their conservativeness, am I expected to ask her parents for permission for us to live together? Both 26.

I’m here for some advice. My wife cares so much about what everyone else thinks about her, coworkers, family, total strangers, and everyone in between. It leads to her feeling so stressed and worried about being and appearing perfect so that others will think well of her. The really sad part is so much of those negative feelings are self generated since she puts so much pressure on herself. I do try to support and encourage her of course. What holiday party did you get?
Anyone living close to an office, got a holiday party with food and drinks, and the venue started open for them until around midnight. Our remote workers got a one hour party w a DJ and trivia that let you win gift cards. Yeah it was nice to win a gift card but I found it lame in comparison to hanging out with my team in real life.

I am so much happier dating someone who is less focused on looks and more focused on everything else.

Being 6’0-6’1 is such a weird height because on dating apps everyone assumes I’m lying (common height to lie and say you are) , but I don’t want to claim 6’2 and be a liar myself. Can’t count how many first dates where she says “i’m happy you’re actually tall”

I hate my job. Absolutely despise it. Wake up/go to sleep every day with a heavy dread for the future. Grind my teeth in my sleep. Gaining weight. Blood pressure spikes whenever my phone goes off. Becoming unable to hide my disdain for coworkers and clients on calls, emails, etc. Have a loving and supportive partner but feel like I can't relate to her at all because she enjoys her work. I don't want to go back to my post-graduation poverty but damn, at least I felt like I was a real person.

I started a T-Mobile family plan in 2014. Since then I’ve expanded to 8 lines on my grandfathered plan, paying $180 for unlimited talk text and data. My friends with the other lines are paying me $30 a month per line and are very grateful because they were all paying 65-80 individually.

This was a good investment.
