Buckle up 😂
But seriously, I have no advice but I’m praying for you!
Sounds like an amazing opportunity for you - good luck

I don’t have much advice for your specific situation, other than: 1) figure out what it takes to get this partner’s input, whether it’s calling, putting meetings on the calendar, showing up at her door, whatever, and do that when you *really* need her to weigh in on something; and 2) try to find a mid-level or senior, or even a partner you have a good relationship with, who you can approach with questions you need to have answered but that don’t necessarily require input from the trial-team partner in particular.
Beyond that, embrace this. It’s a tremendous opportunity to excel. You will definitely be more stressed than many of your peers, but you’ll also wind up years ahead of them on the experience curve.
Thanks for all the kind words! Specifically, is there anything I should be cognizant of in the dynamic with this more senior associate? I have never really managed someone before, and don’t want her to think I’m overstepping, even though the reality is I know more about the case and trial in general. It’s a little awkward sending back drafts bleeding, but like, it needs to get done?
Honestly, I wouldn't sweat this too hard. You sound conscientious and she's probably super grateful you're on the team. I would be.
