I’m a bariatric coordinator and an RN. I graduate with my MSN in executive leadership in December. I’ve always wanted to go into leadership. My CNO turned my current job into a “leadership” position. I feel like all of this was done in attempts to get me to “be quiet”. I feel so overlooked, and under appreciated. I’ve been a nurse for 8 years, and worked 7.5 years in high risk ICU. Where I was a charge nurse and a nursing house supervisor as well. Does anyone have any advice? I feel so deflated

Look for other jobs…compare salaries. Be sure you’re being paid what you’re worth. Can always come back and see if they will counter. Doesn’t sound like you’ll have room for growth where you’re at if you feel your CNO is trying to get you to “be quiet.” If you feel under appreciated, I doubt that will change.

With the position now being a leadership role. Did you get a pay increase? Do you not have a voice in changes ?? What’s important to you z?

I only got my merit increase max of $0.75, which I would have gotten regardless. I did the math and took a $8,000-$10,000/year pay cut with the overtime I would pick up. Yes, the hours are better, the position definitely has some benefits. I am literally the only one in the hospital in charge of this program and accreditation, which is a lot of additional stress. In a way I have a voice, but a lot of the time I have to go through my CNO or medical director to be effective. I want to help be able to influence change. I would like to get into clinical operations down the line. I think I’m afraid that this is going to hinder things for my career advancement, because my CNO might see it as a leadership position, but another executive somewhere else might not.

I'm really struggling with hiring, I'm still new to it. I offer a fair wage for where I live ($15/hour), and I need two people so that one doesn't isn't in the shop every day. I've had two employees now who left without notice. I don't want to overwhelm the person I still have but I count on delegating to get everything done on time. How do you find reliable people to hire, and what should I watch out for?

Any recommendations? Thank you in advance.

"Designer" stole projects from other Designers, for her own website. I know this happens sometimes, and it's certainly one of my biggest fears. I want to spread awareness within the creative community, in case anything else on her site may be one of your own projects. Julia is a design educator for Adobe and she found one of her own projects on Lucy's site—and have since identified 2 other projects that belong to 2 separate designers as well. Please be aware, and check her site out!!

Hello everyone,

I gave an interview round 1 today and I got shortlisted from that, but then HR told me that for the final round you have to travel to a different state and the tickets would be reimbursed.

But the thing is it's difficult for me to travel for an interview to 1000s of KM.

How should I handle it and not loose the opportunity also?

Please advise.

I work as a clinical care manager (LCSW) with an insurance company. Wondering if there is a better way of finding out salary information for other companies out there that have similar positions? I do feel that I am compensated fairly but lower than what I initially expected based on what I saw on glassdoor. I was told it’s because it’s based on cost of living where I am residing (not sure if that was legit or just an excuse).
