I’m a bit confused about ISOs in a recent offer. It was listed as part of my compensation, but don’t I have to pay for it?

Received a verbal job offer on Tues. $5k short of what I had said was my desired range but still up from my current salary. We set up a call for Thurs to discuss further. On Wed they sent me all benefits info. Thursday on the call I asked if we could either increase moving stipend or get closer to my desired salary. They said no, and I asked them to send over written offer and I would let them know by Fri. They then email they are no longer offering me the position and repost it the next day:

I just had someone email me to interview me. I always ask what is required before I interview. They said I have to have 50k in the bank. This is supposedly to work for Farmers Insurance. Is this normal? It sounds like a scam to me.

I just finished my Masters at UT Arlington. I’ve been working for this firm for almost 3 years in uptown Dallas. I technically don’t have a title, obviously because I’m not license. So finally after so many applications and interviews and rejections I landed a job finally. They negotiated with me well 100k salary decent benefits. I’ll be the first HR for the US for them, they are a China-based company so this will be an interesting challenge for me. I’m gonna take it three months at a time. Not get too excited be strictly business and just keep on trucking just in case if the worst happens again. My last employer caused damage so treading lightly. Any tips going in to this?

I’m seeing lots of posts about really bad losses. If you trade you’re going to lose money - hopefully not all the time, but many positions will be mistakes. But you need a process to find ideas and manage positions. Two books you should read are “The New Trading for a Livinng” and “The Laws of Trading.” Both look at psychology, process, and risk in different ways that can help you work out your own process. The next 18 months will be much harder than the last 18 - time to start learning.
