to take PTO especially around the holidays. I told my Coach this last week and she told me that since team members already called those weeks, the best she could do is to let me be ‘out’ and check emails. I would have to still be available for emergencies for my clients and work if necessary. I then thought well if I can’t have holiday weeks off, I would like to take a few Fridays off between now and the end of the year. I looked up everyone on my team’s PTO scheduled, half of them are already taking off Thursdays and Fridays up until the end of the year. I don’t think I’ll be able to take any PTO this year anymore

like

Can you still request some Fridays off and if it becomes an issue maybe you can suggest Mondays instead if you’re looking to extend the weekends.

I can try. I seemed to get a lot of pushback for even wanting to take some time off

Can you take off Mondays and Tuesdays

The worst part is my firm is going to unlimited PTO next year and everything over 40 is going to be gone. I only need to take a few days much needed days off but I just feel like everyone else’s schedules have been accustomed and I’m the only one to get flack for wanting to take a few days off

Push back. Take monday and tuesday following thanksgiving. Take some time in early december to christmas shop etc and relax. Yes; companies push back but thats bc some employees (the work horses) will just fold.

I need some help navigating a conversation with my boss. I have been with our brand for 7 years (been with the same boss) but just came up on my 1 year anniversary with our corporate office last week. I had my review and received 4 out of 5 points. I received zero salary increase because I got a $2,000 bump earlier this year after they terminated an employee and I took on some additional tasks. Is it wrong of me to still think I should have received an additional bump?
