Partner demanding to cancel spring break vacation that was approved last Oct. My project got pushed so now my vacay is the middle of UAT. Paid non refundable 5k air and hotel for my family. WTF?
Does anyone else here have a passion to eventually start your own company someday? I really just want to work for myself, be my own boss, make myself money, etc but I don’t know where to start. Should I start a side project on the side? Figure out what I’m passionate about, what can make me money, etc?
I’m relatively new to freelancing, but was lucky enough to sell in a video shoot and travel to be there on set. How do you handle billing hours and expenses in this scenario as a freelancer? Obviously I’ll bill any hours working on the project, time on set and expense my travel. Do you bill extra for the billable hours you lost during travel?
Team leaders - If the team has a sharepoint or teams site, please use it. Managing the offline files you send us while the client is updating online creates so much unnecessary work and hassle
Consulting is like driving with your client in the passenger seat and they keep trying to grab the steering wheel and drive you into oncoming traffic.

Any tips on being a west coast consultant and traveling east for a project? Concerned about arriving to the client late on Mondays, jet lag, etc.
Any tips for building a client base from scratch? I’m a 4th year associate at a firm of 12 attorneys. I practice in business, compliance, and real estate (primarily on partners’ files) and don’t litigate. Most of the partners’ clients are wealthy friends or friends of friends (not my circle). Associates are not referred business, even cold calls, and so far “networking” events like Chamber of Commerce luncheons have been a bust. I equate a book to autonomy and career choice and pressure is on.
Hard money loan for a buy, rehab rent project: 168k principal, 8% interest, 2.9% loan cost (4.8k) and 4 points (6.7k) The upfront cost seems a bit excessive to me or is this normal today?
Monthly rental car for project, drove around this weekend and notice scratches- what next? Will i be in trouble
Is copy that’s been approved by a client fair game for them to use anywhere? It was only supposed to be for print and now it’s showing up all over their social. Don’t get me wrong.. I’m excited but
After 2 years I finally rolled off a stressful project and it feels great! My energy and my over all well being have significantly improved. This morning I feel like I’m ready to take on the world!
Just had my first experience of being marginalized on a project, all ideas taken or given credit to someone else, and enduring a bromance between the other two consultants on the team. I’m not too...

Does anyone have insight into this? Which group is the first to have their offers rescinded in a recession if it has to come to it? Internship programs or new hire graduate programs?
What’s higher - associate or sr analyst? Currently I’m holding an associate title but got a job offer as a sr analyst at an equally reputable industry company that pays a bit higher. Just worried the title might drag me down a bit - but the salary will make me take it.

Courtyard marriott Atlantic city tells me breakfast isn't complimentary. Platinum here. Marriott website says courtyard offers daily credit OR breakfast. Anyone else experience this?
“Per diem” meal expenses are EXPLOITATION. $50 is not enough for a single meal at a hotel restaurant, let alone an entire DAY for food. Shifting travel costs onto your employees = evil. Yes i mad :<
