I just want to quit right now. I just can’t anymore
Thank you all for your patience. I do appreciate it. It turns out having a side project while running multiple proposals is a trifle challenging. That said. I’m posting a first subset of the rawish data. In all close to 500 people took the survey, but a majority were from the Big Four. Here is the data from Deloitte, EY, KPMG, and PWC. Insights to come! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1lN6JrxQfvA_MC4XFZ38G0ppQkBuxRv9mf88Y8NE2X2U/htmlview
Former Quinn attorney here. I see a lot of comments about Quinn being cheap. However, what never gets mentioned is that Quinn covers your entire health insurance (I paid no monthly), pays out unused vacation time (ended up getting 40k extra when I left), and allows associates to participate in profit sharing (not huge value but still). I know of no other firm that offers these benefits and they add up.
I did love the random profit sharing bonuses and 401k contributions
Former QE associate. It is by far the most annoying thing about QE. It means that while you do take on great responsibility early on you also still have to deal with or do yourself a lot of the paralegal level work. I left because the admin part is a mess too and it was getting to be too much for my family to deal with the back and forth on our work situation. That said, if you’re looking for experience, you won’t find as many opportunities anywhere else. If you’re junior I 100% say do it. If you’re senior you’ll have difficulty catching up with the craziness and lifestyle
Quinn is a great firm, particularly because of the strong brand. That said, for juniors (I’m not sure what class year you are) it has been challenging because of the remote working situation. Many junior associates are moving because they are feeling like they are without much direction and mentoring.
Following! Didn’t know about the issues with staff and Nick-and-diming of associates
Also consider Latham for trial-focused litigation
Look up the Quinn hand grenade story in case you haven’t already, it’s a hoot
Former QE associate here and didn’t know that. Amazing
