I’m a cybersecurity consultant with 7 years of sales / sales management, consulting, and team leadership skills. Would it be feasible for me to join a PE firm as an operating executive focused on optimizing professional services / cybersecurity portfolio companies? If so, any advice on how to do so would be greatly appreciated.

I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!

Hey Guys,

Currently a SAP consultant in a niche logistics module and trying to plan a switch both out of consulting and out of SAP. As such, during my search I’ve noticed a lot of the jobs I’m interested show the top needed skills as Python and advanced SQL querying (both of which I would need to learn up)

As someone who doesn’t have a computer science degree I was wondering if any of the 🐠 here know how I can highlight these skills enough to at least get a callback (once I’m done learning).

I am worried that I am being benchmarked on a wrong job title.

Sales Manager vs International Manager or should it be something else?

My employer is based in China, while I am in France. I remotely manage a global sales team, with team members from around the globe. They all work remotely as well.

Being remote, and managing an international remote team, I would like to know what should be my job title? Any idea or professionals that I may contact, please?

Thank you.

It feels like everyone has gotten so down on advertising. You can still make great work for great brands at great agencies. You can still do things you’re proud of. And fill your portfolios with beautiful things. And have great impact. And collect shiny awards and enjoy great after parties after it. And see your commercials on TV during the Super Bowl. It’s still a great way to make a living if done right. And craft services is still tasty. You just have to make the right career moves.

Management offered me a new role and training for it too, but I’m moving countries very soon like in 4 months so I rejected it and offered to stay in my same role. Though even in my same role they’re giving me an increase in responsibility + pay.
Now 1 - I feel weird accepting this cause I know I’m leaving
2 - I feel bummed to have not accepted the other opportunity because I was excited for it, now I’m wondering if I made the right decision

Question for any/all who will answer. Long time individual contributor(12+ years) to a fortune 100 company. Past 7+ years have earned between 600k-800k /year after building out a GTM PE practice which currently does $30M+. Looking to take that framework and replicate for any startup or mid market company with direct GTM B2B looking to accelerate revenue. What’s a reasonable ask on equity vs earned income. Thinking 2-4% and 300-400k/ year. Thoughts?

A really stupid question from me but i just wanted to know for general knowledge. Do you have to buy your participation in the carry scheme i.e. is it something you need to take a loan out and buy into a fund (similar to a law firm partner)? Or do you get the shares allocated to you (like a bonus)?

If the former, how do deal team folks fork out the cash for this? I assume not everyone has $m just sitting in a bank and not invested somewhere.
