23 and looking to apply to MBA in ~3 years. What do I need to do to better my chances for an M7? Context: Mid-level undergrad with 3.79 GPA, top of class performer at IBM, have Negotiation Mastery and Disruptive Strategy certifications from HBS, not sure what to work on next.
Why do some post-MBA consultants only take 2 years to make EM while others take 3 years? Practice driven? Ambition driven? Hours spent on a studies? McKinsey & Company
Wharton Round 1 applicants, did you go through the Team Based Discussion on Zoom? I noticed the email just says “Interviews will be virtual with a second-year Wharton MBA Admissions Fellows”.
What are the best uses for Tableau vs Power BI? I’m thinking about getting a certification but I don’t currently use data visualization or modeling tools. Would be interested in hearing your experiences. Trying to invest in my future with certification.
Good penetration tester but have a biz background (undergrad & masters). Want to transition to mgmt consulting. Possible at all or is a career transition or MBA required? Don’t hate my work just ?ing
Don’t MBA programs most want the people who don’t need/want to go to business school (Private equity associates already making tons, successful startup founders, etc)? Seems like they don’t really want anyone who actually needs business school for their career.
Folks who’ve done their MS here (not MBA) - With 2-3 yrs of experience do you think a 1 page CV works or does one elaborate into 2 pages atleast. Also looking for perspective from folks who handle tech recruiting.
Currently a Manager at KPMG Strat with MBA (6YOE) - wondering what L4/5 I should aim for at FB and Google. Thanks!
EY Virtual MBA... Huh... Didn't see that coming. Guess they'll no longer be give scholarships

Everyone talks about pay in PE, what does it actually look like? Better than post-MBA MBB?
At a T2 firm and considering an EMBA. My background is: -TC $300K, clear path to promos -7 YOE, T10 undergrad -Do lots of work in target industry, good contacts Will an EMBA be a net positive or negative to my “prestige”? Is it worth the time and $ investment? I am not a career switcher and do not feel like I fit the profile of a FT MBA student.
Putting MBA after your name is dumb...prove me wrong
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
I am trying to switch up my career to consulting. Any recommendations for MBA programs? Do big firms recruit out of the program? PS: I am a security analyst and i hope to do strategy consulting. TIA!!!
I’ve been offered the opportunity to interview at 2 of 3 MBB in the near future. I applied earlier this year and I was initially rejected. I’m an older experienced candidate without a SO or kids. I have a MBA. I am at a good place right now in my career with my current employer. I would be coming in at a lower level but I’m not worried about that. Pay is the same. I will be working more hours at MBB. My resume is already solid but I’m sure MBB would help.McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group
How is PE recruiting out of Tuck with pre-MBA PE experience (LMM/MM)? I plan to apply to non-HS M7s as well but personally want to go to Tuck.
Hey! Currently Manager in Strategy with 6 YOE and an MBA. Wondering whether L4 or L5 is more appropriate for me. Thanks a lot!
Considering obtaining a CFE certification. Can anyone share their experience vs experience obtaining CPA? I’m already a CPA. I just want a comparison of study time requirement and difficulty of exam.
Curious, are attorneys taking cases to sue hospitals and staff that the family members claim have ‘wrongly’ intubated unvaccinated COVID patients? As in they should not have been intubated? Saw a FB page where a woman is blaming the hospital staff that his husband should not have been intubated and says she has been contacted by many attorneys to sue the hospital.
Anyone in govt services at MBB willing to chat? Feeling like my experience in GPS/my specific area of expertise is putting me in a niche
Looking to buy our first home. Any recommendations on banks that offer mortgages on H1B in NJ?
Anyone need referral in IBM... DM me
401K Question - Very Confused. Just came to US and will be here for about 4 Years. Firm matches 25% of first 6% employee down. Some say, upon withdrawal, have to 40% tax/penalty / others say .. Contin
Question here - been at a new job for a bit and have discovered that the culture is extremely misogynistic. It’s been 6 months and I have had to go to HR twice. I want to leave, but don’t want to seem like a jumper - but then again, what does it say about a future employer if they judge me for leaving a bad work environment? Feeling conflicted. Thoughts ?
I am java fullstack developer & received offer from IBM for Senior systems analyst role, Band 07b. Is it equivalent to tech lead/architect or Individual contributor or depends on project to project basis?
I have sent out probably 140 applications in the last 2 weeks to analyst/project management roles across the country and haven’t heard anything back besides a few rejections. Is this normal? So much time invested in applying and I’m feeling discouraged. 1 year of experience in consulting/project management for a start up consulting firm, business degree from a pretty good state school.
Someone help me understand: This whole saga about Immigration halt applies only for new Green Cards. How does this even help the current situation? Is he trying to push his anti family chain....

QUESTION -When you have a great passion project / bottom drawer idea that you keep bringing out and trying to bring back to life - ie you’ve had it in a couple of agencies - who owns it? It wasn’t for a brief, and it was worked on above and beyond the general hours of work. And it’s never been bought.
I'll be renovating my house (gut all existing bathrooms and kitchen, extend house to make room for an extra bathroom). It's currently my primary residence but I likely have to move in early 2022 to another city where I also own a house and then I plan to rent my current residence via Airbnb. What should I consider from a tax perspective? For example, if my current residence becomes an investment property before or when I renovate, does the renovation count as a tax deductible expense?
How do MBB PE exit opps differ by office ? Given the global staffing model, can a McKinsey & Company BA pursue SF/ NYC/ BOS PE if they are tagged to any American office?
Anyone have experience with bariatric surgery, good or bad? Hi Guys, I am a consultant for EY India and have been shortlisted for PWC India Senior Associate profile. Can anyone here help me understand what salary bracket should I negotiate in? I am currently at 12 Fixed. Also does being from EY make my chances of getting in better? Anyone who’s been through similar experience, please share your stories. Interview experiences and tips would be appreciated too. Thanks
Is it just in my experience or are recruiters/hiring managers really reluctant these days to discuss salary bands for a given role? My logic for asking is to determine if I should consider a given role or pass if doesn't meet my salary requirements rather than continue additional interviews and find out later. Thoughts?
How are MBB maternity/paternity leave?
Full-time MBA or EMBA? My company (EY) would pay for EMBA, but require me to stay with the firm for 3y post graduation; MBA would be on me and I have no more than 50k in my savings. The reason I am considering full time MBA is that I am not sure I want to stay in consulting, especially not in EY. Also, I am 30yo with 7y of experience and was recently promoted to a Manager. Any advice?
