Y’all need to think about more than just the presidency. You are also voting for 1-2 supreme court seats, which may very well impact the next 20-30 years of American life. Trump and Republicans have figured this out and they use this to lure those conservatives who normally wouldn’t agree with Trump as a president. RBG is 87 and Stephen Bryer 81. Do you want Trump to appoint 1-2 more Supreme Court justices?? How is it that Democrats can’t figure this out??
Trump won because he won the high income vote btw, he didn’t run off with all the working class vote or something. Not sure what some points here are trying to make.
Perhaps someone meant white working class, which yes Trump is mighty strong among white men of the working class. Doubt that will budge.
It’s funny. I’m an immigrant non citizen and always saw myself as a Democrat.
I told my girlfriend (US citizen) that if Bernie didn’t win the primaries, I’d rather vote for Trump than Biden
Back to OP, Bernies platform is likely unconstitutional for a decade or two if Trump is re-elected and GOP has senate for judiciary. So yes, a bit odd you’d prefer to kill the Bernie platform possibly semi-permanently if he’s not the nominee.
Regarding Trump, since the supposed policies of putting US workers first are not maintained on any other policy piece, NAFTA was doubled down on, unions getting pushed out with right to work, entrenching Corp power to monopolize employee markets via consolidation, the idea he’s doing it for the working stiff seems unlikely.
You can eventually just realize Stephen Miller et al just don’t want non-European new Americans. For my family members who support Trump, hating out groups they want harmed is very much a core appeal. The pro-worker words are just the way to say it in conversation, any actual pro-worker policy can be tossed aside or reversed, they won’t care as long as they can read of a raid or hear someone call foreigners dangerous or unamerican.
Immigrant as well. I like a lot of Democrats values but in the end, it’s like voting with my wallet and be selfish.
Coming To US with pretty much nothing, it took a couple of decades to finally become “comfortable” financially. But there’s still a lot of responsibilities for parents and siblings and even with a 200k+ salary, I’m still shopping at Walmart, dollar stores and such to support my family circle for them to have a better life as well. What scares me is even with just Bernie’s M4A, that’s about $20-30k per year of additional tax (assuming to take out my usual premium and medical bill) and that’s not something I can afford.
Well.. I dislike Trump but the immediate impact for me is too high to support all of Bernie’s policies. I’m just glad I don’t have to make that kind of decision anymore.

It’s better to have Medicare for all as a society. So it’s just a matter of personal choice if you want to to live in a society where everyone is treated with care and get the help they need. I’m of an immigrant family too and my mother had heart surgery and at that time she had Medicaid which took care of it 100%. In return I worked hard and paid back to the the society with my own taxes. I want everyone to live in a society where I don’t have worry that my family might go bankrupt because they needed a life saving heart surgery.
Immigrant, citizen. Was not a citizen during the last election cycle, could not vote.
I was brought up in USSR. Bernie was absolutely out of question for me. Too many memories of growing up with so called free health care and so called free education. Nope. Have had enough.
As much as I despite Trump, I'm going to vote with my wallet and vote Republican.

How can you compare having health care insurance same as being from a communism/ dictatorship? Is canada a communist country for you? Is Iceland communist? Australia? Denmark? I have family in those so called “communist” under your definition and they are doing better than ever. I don’t hear any complains or protests outside capitols from them and they are happy even in these trying times
I wrestled a lot with that uncomfortable scenario too. I would never vote for Bernie, but I also despise Trump. My mom and members of my community fled communist regimes, and I damn well will never vote for a socialist. I resolved to vote down ballot blue, but thankfully I never had to choose between the Orange Man and an empty bubble.
It still might be Bernie.
